This is a start. I have quite a few AU-58's. It has been one of my favorite grades over the years.
BillJones, That 1795 1/2c would be wonderful if you'd like to be my secret Santa this holiday season?
You don't want to know what I paid for that. It came from one of the leading copper dealers. When I made the deal for that piece, it was raw. It has a tiny planchet clip and the problem was if PCGS noted that on the slab it would lower the value. So the deal was PCGS had to not mention the clip to make the deal work. PCGS didn't mention it so I ended up with the coin.
At the same show a dealer had another 1795 half cent, same variety, C-1, that was also a PCGS AU-58. His was priced $1,500 less, but there are AU-58s and then there are AU-58s. This one blew that one out of the water.
The 1795 C-1 half cent is not overly rare, although you don't nice ones that often at the shows, especially now. That one rated as the seventh or eighth finest known.

Here's a nice 58 DMPL. I really wish PC would start giving out PL/DMPL to AU coins that are deserving. Or at the very least with 58 examples.

1817/3 Capped Bust Half PCGS AU58
There are some really nice coins in this thread.
Here is an 1803 Large 3 B-6, BB-255 Silver Dollar that was part of the Warren Miller Collection. It is graded PCGS AU58+ (CAC).
Andy Lustig and I (Dave Perkins) purchased the Miller Early Dollar Collection in Fall 2015 and owned this coin for about a week, if that! We certainly wouldn't mind having this coin back.....

The line on the reverse is a die crack
The 1842 Seated dollar is very nice. so unusual, seems they all have problems of one sort or another.
