Looking for some new Coin Tongs

Does anybody know where a fella could acquire some more of these?

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I have not seen that particular type before... looks like it has encountered acetone a few times.... Cheers, RickO

These were my "go to" tongs until I used them in Acetone. It was pretty dumb.
I've had these sine the early 70's.

Those "tongs" were the best! I cannot understand why someone has not altered them enough to avoid any copyright and started making them again.

If you are really careful, you can rub one of the plastic preservatives/restorers into the dull plastic and cut the ends deeper with a razorblade. They should last you another decade.

I use the blue Kointongs from Wizard. Seem to hold up extra well against acetone. Biggest plus for me is that it has a lock like a forcep.

I have 3 of em but not for sale. Irreplaceable!

Bought three of these in the mid 70's. One broke, one is the only tongs I use and this is my reserve. Occasionally search eBay for more. Yes! Irreplaceable. Lightly silicone the tension spring and the hinge occasionally. This will guard against rusting and they will last forever. The design makes deep submersion unnecessary but rinsing gets the metal parts wet.

IF ANYBODY comes across these, please let me know as I am in desperate need.

How about if I made you an offer you couldn't refuse?

I thought about modeling cement on the cracks but am hesitant since, as stated, I really need these.

That should not hurt them. I tried to make some with a clay mold and plastic in the 1990's but it did not work. I refurbished a pair several times. Where are the Chinese when you need them?

PM me if you can keep a big secret I don't wish to share (I'm very selfish and very sorry) and I WILL KOWN within a week if you tell your friends - even those who do not post on line. Then you will be on my S-list forever!

OK, I did not want to help the OP days ago until I had time to get a kickback from the supplier....LOL. In the spirit of becoming a better person - less selfish and more empathetic - I'll ignore my natural Arab upbringing to post where you can get an excellent replacement that I once saw being used in a conservation lab I visited.

Go on the Internet and search Wolfcraft (no relationship with my parents - Mr. & Mrs. Wolf) Hobby Clamps.
They come in a pack of 8 but two are perfect coin tongs with a little modification (cut away the yellow part of the tip on the long nose pair). I cannot believe I'm posting this; must be something I ate for breakfast. Have Fun!

Not much help but interesting. Some enterprising soul could revive this tool. There seems to be some interest. I'll bet there are some die cut molds out there gathering dust. If you can't find it, make it!
