I feel if I send this for regrade this might grade MS63 by today's standards? What do Morgan experts here think?

You can always do the reconsideration, so you do not lose the slab you have now if it does not upgrade.
This is one of those cases where it appears the reverse is what's limiting the grade here. Assuming there are not impairments that are hidden in the images, I could see this getting a 63 to 63+ today. Personally though, I think it would look sexier in the ratter with a gold bean.
I'd send for reconsideration. It should grade higher than 61, and I hate rattler holders.

Looks MS63 to me
Not an expert, but looks AU to me.
Id say 63. Gold bean and original holder might make you more money tho (as mentioned earlier).
Being a Carson City issue might play into the equation. The demand for Carson City coins is likely higher now than it was back when the coin was holdered. Just as old gold seems to get a bonus in the grading process due to its demand and desirability the same subjective factor may also play in your favor just because of the mint. I think we often forget that part of what the grading services are offering is a guarantee. There is less risk to the grading service to be more generous with a coin that has a higher intrinsic value.
go for it.

Under such magnification, each flaw becomes glaringly obvious.... I would guess that in hand it will go 63.... Cheers, RickO
Hard to argue with that obverse. Also agree with the 63 grade based on pictures.
Well, just Love coins, period.
I would go for the bean first...quicker turnaround time too.

From the pictures it looks a bit washed out and is probably why it graded 61. Not seeing the luster for a 63 here.
I think you're better off getting a gold bean for it.
Then when you sell it, some optimistic big spender will think it's an ms64 and you'll clean up.
BTW, I think it could be a 63.

It will upgrade to a 63 IMO.
Question is, are you planning on resale or keeping it?
Keep it = Send to CAC
Resale = Upgrade
It will be part of my CC MD collection for at least next few years. Have 2 more coins to complete the set.
Go for the gold .CAC would be my first stop.
I would say that it would upgrade, but some people think that the "rattle holder" is as good as gold CAC bean.
Looks like it has too much micro chatter on the obverse giving it an AU'ish kind of look to really do any better. I would leave it as is. If you want to save a few bucks send it to CAC first and see what they say.
CAC is the way to go, the panache of oh and cac gold would be worth good money, then maybe raw coin submission(s), reconsideration cost? There was usually a reason for the grade in the first place. As an old timer said, always check the cotton balls on portrait for wear.
My guess is 62 tops. I'd get the bean, hopefully gold.

Gold bean is exciting...
I had a coin with a similar look fail to get a gold. It is not unheard of for upgraded coins to green bean at the old and new grade. CAC is inconsistent with its gold sticker.
I see it is a 62 as the luster is not bold, the surfaces are a bit scuffy, and the lower left reverse has some gouging. I doubt CAC would gold bean it unless they think it's bordering on a 63 grade. It looks ok 62 to me.
Some of you guys are being hard on this piece especially considering it's a CC and more bagmark prone by virtue of how they were handled and shipped about. That said, on a reconsideration I think 62, shot 63 depending on how that reverse actually looks in hand. IF it were me I'd strongly consider the advice of others who advise leaving it in the old holder and going for a gold CAC.
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
I would send it to CAC in an effort to see if it gets a gold. This coin will do better in this holder with the gold than in a higher graded slab if there are those that see it as washed out. Just a friendly suggestion from the cheap seats...

tough to tell from those pics but I would say 62+ 63.
I would crack. No reason to get gold sticker.
I usually prefer a gold sticker. Just dont think its the better play here
Could be a 63
From a sales price standpoint.
Rattler in 61, trumps new holder 62 non CAC.
Rattler in 61 with green CAC, probably trumps a new holder 63 non CAC.
I agree except there is no reason to crack anymore with the regrade tier.
In this instance, not sure the concept of quality for the grade is getting the attention it deserves.

If there are those that see it as washed out, why would CAC give it a gold sticker? The dipped-out look will max out the grade at 62.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. Rattler in 61 with a green sticker means its a solid 61, not a solid 62. A coin in a new 63 holder is going to look nicer than a 61 with a green sticker 9 times out of 10.

Even with the issues at 6 o'clock on the reverse I would think it would upgrade. The price jump to 62 or 63 isn't astronomical but decent. Tough call if it should go to cac or pcgs
We are seeing an image... And it just may not be washed out so an in hand review would help. So does it get the gold if CAC sees it as a 62?

I was just referring to the likely outcome in sales price IMO.
A non CAC 92-cc in 61 or 62 is a common coin.
The rattler holder usually brings a stronger premium compared to the small price difference between those two grades. A rattler with any CAC sticker is even a bigger premium. Some people place a much larger premium on the holder and sticker than what you would expect. Not saying I'm agreeing with that method of collecting, but it seems to be where we are at currently.
My prediction:
CAC as is: Green Bean
PCGS regrade: 63 shot 62
