I figured this one at a buck or two in a batch some time ago. My scan is not that grate, but I can assure you it is as real as the original poster's coin. And since their coin has been confirmed by professionals and mine is just as good, then there is no need for any action on my part. It's your responsibility to just believe me.
Now the tough decision, whether to sell it for hundreds of thousands or toss back into my odd stuff box. Think I'll go with back to the odd stuff box. It has special meaning to me.

Over the decades, I've found that people make
statements like this ("it's been authenticated', etc.)
because they showed it to someone/anyone, who
say's 'looks good to me' or 'looks like it could be good',
or they say it just for fun, with no one else seeing the
coin, but it's fun to say 'it's been declared genuine'.....
....even though we never know who the heck told them that.
In any case, this one isn't genuine, obviously.
Fred Weinberg has been dealing in coins for about 50 years and is as expert as there is.
He was part of the team that authenticated the last genuine 1913 Liberty nickel.
He says the coin isn't genuine.
Yet the original poster states, "I sent the coin to the professionals not just to my local coin shop it's been there for two weeks I just got the call it was real", without naming who "the professionals" are.
Might I add that PCGS stands for Professional Coin Grading Service. They have graded over 36 million coins and are still going strong. My point is, PCGS IS THE PROFESSIONALS!
And, if you compare the coin in the original post to pictures of genuine 1913 Liberty nickels, the "3" doesn't match.
So, are you going to believe your own eyes and Fred Weinberg, or are you going to believe the mysterious "professionals" the original poster refers to?

It is not a genuine 1913 Liberty nickel.
It is not an unaltered Liberty nickel.
But I see no reason to doubt that it is a genuine Liberty nickel that was struck in 1910 and has had a colorful life since then.
With value like that I don't know why you are trusting those experts, Abby. I would be high tailing it down there the retrieve your extreme rarity before they try to switch it with a fake. Also would recommend you personally deliver it to a grading service like this.

I cannot make up my mind if the OP is simply gaming the forum or if he/she actually believes it is authentic. Since we can all see the manipulated digit, and the leading expert in numismatic analysis says it is fake, there really is no other opinions required. If, in fact someone is telling the OP it is authentic, they are sadly mistaken or lying. Cheers, RickO
So is this the same Doebino from 2008 that posted in a metal detecting forum? This would sort of blow away the notion that it was handed down lovingly for decades and/or inherited.
If you want the real professionals.....there's only.....Leon and Mathilda.
Why do people like to perpetrate stuff like this???? This is the second go around. Thanks go to tdiaz1979 for the break in the case............and all who followed up.

@ArizonaRareCoins ... Great work... that clinches the 'fake' conclusion.... Though we never doubted it, this brings it full circle with the actual copied photograph. Thanks for the detective work... Cheers, RickO
Nobody said the nickel in the pic was mine. Mine was sent off, if you read my post I was just asking for INFORMATION ha how many times do I have to repeat that lol some of you are in your own little world.

The only good news, assuming Abby (normal) is telling
the truth just this once, is that she wasted/spent $75-$100 on
getting the coin authenticated. I wish it was a Walk-Thru.

Sorry, Fred, it only reaches THAT level of fun if they send it to you for authentication. Or do professional ethics then prohibit you from taking photos to educate the rest of us?

This is hillarious, the OP is using the picture of this coin. He just photoshopped it and increased the contrast:

Here's the thread that discusses this counterfeit:
