A pair of two feather buffalos

Never thought I would own two of these. Both were cherrypicks from unattributed slabs, one an NGC and one PCGS. Now I need to ponder which one to keep. The first one is graded 63, has a ton of character, and has some sentimental attachment as the first cherrypick I ever got attributed. The 2nd one is graded 64, which makes it tied for top POP, which has some allure as well. If you were in my shoes, which one would stay?

As soon as I saw the two images I preferred the MS63 (top coin) since I like the streaky planchet look of the coin very much. However, I would imagine most would pick the MS64 (bottom coin) since it is a more "clean" white coin.

I like #2, from the photos it looks like the "y" in "Liberty" is worn on top also the shoulder on the top Buff seems to have more wear and yes I am partial to the cleaner look

I've always liked 'streaky' Buffalos myself.

A tough call but I would go with 1.

2 looks like it might still have a trace of the feather. But notice the broken nose! In light of the feather situation, tho, I have no doubt-#1 is the one!

I'd keep the one with the least amount of feather showing.

Must you sell one? If $$ is an issue, I'd try to keep both for their individual reasons, and try to offload something (or a few somethings) else with less sentimental attachment. And if a coin was top pop, I'd definitely not get rid of it.

Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]

I'd keep both, as they illustrate the history of the die.

At first blush, 2 looks generically cleaner but looking closer at the buffalo, it does have color on it that makes it look more rugged. I'm leaning to 2 because the buffalo looks rugged and has more character.

They are two totally different dies-die markers (and that "broken nose" where the nose is separated from the head) tell the tale.

I have to admit, the 63 would be my choice to keep. But either way, you can't go wrong.

Pretty even split of views for the reason TomB predicted. I had originally leaned to the 63, but the 64 just came back from PCGS, and it is a rather sharp looking piece.

The 63 has no trace of a feather, tho.
