The Charles IV 1/2 Escudo is in my opinion the most difficult denomination for the monarch.
Consider, of the 816 1/2 e’s in the Heritage archive, 109 are from Charles III, 1 is from Charles IV, a nice AU but a no grade coin with a planchet flaw.
Acquired this choice EF this week from Italy. @cardinal knows what I'm talking about!

I've searched for years to find one, and the only one I've seen come to market was the Heritage offering:

Low mintages I would presume.
The silver coins are much easier and are generally considered common as a type (aside from the 4 reales which is scarce in most grades) to find though they become very difficult in higher grade.
The 8R's are commonly seen up to MS62 with 63's scarce and only a handful of 64's. There is no 65 to my knowledge.
The 4R's are the most difficult silver denominations with the finest that I have seen being a 58.
The 2R's through to 1/2r's are fairly common up to low MS. I know of a few gem 2R's (Cardinal and I both own on of the few), with the 1R's and 1/2r's available even in MS65.
Despite all of the grades, a vast majority of the available coins are unattractive, dull white or sea salvaged, graffiti or exhibits some problem. Eye appealing and original coins in just about any grade are difficult to find.
