Compelling evidence that PCGS grading is too strict.

I did an Ebay search of "PCGS undergraded" and 73 results were returned.
Searched "PCGS Overgraded" and no examples were found!!!

I'm surprised you only got 73 hits.

Ownership adds a point
When including auction text (not just title) it jumps to 276 listed in the coin category.
Very compelling!
I am a fan of PCGS grading compared to NGC.
Undergraded when I'm buying. Overgraded when I'm selling.
I just searched for PCGS and overgraded and found 1. It's graded FR2.

Yeah eBay listings are a very authorize source.
I've got a PCGS coin I consider at least 2 points overgraded. It was CAC green at XF45 and is currently AU55.
Sorry, no pics.

I sold a beautiful 1799 dollar several months ago that I described as generously graded as PCGS 30. It was really a vf-20. The buyer was very happy, since the coin was really nice and original, just over-graded by 5-10 points.

Without an meaningful set of standards all "grading" is too strict or too loose or too-something....
LOL! That's pretty funny!
.
I wonder if you did the same for NGC.
In my experience I have a number of overgraded NGC proofs, cameos, and ultra cameos. Way more than PCGS.

I have a bunch of Morgans, graded PCGS MS64 and MS65 that are ungraded by 10 - 15 points each.
Sort of the brilliant line of thinking that the geniuses that put estate sale in every eBay listing they start.
I think you have that reversed.
I think he meant the seller tells him the coins are overgraded when he is buying them, but when it comes time to sell them the buyers tells him they are over graded.
Seller says undergraded.
As RogerB said, without standards, they are whatever you, or the dealer, says it is...over, under, + or *..... Opinions... you all know the rest of the adage.... Cheers, RickO
Oh, I see... not our marketing strategy when buying.
An anomoyous source just called me and told me CNN wants to hire you, they see a bright future with you with those headlines you're making.
By today's scientific standards the OP's method seems sound
Even with those standards we still see what we want to see in a grade.
"Even with those standards we still see what we want to see in a grade." True, much like a parent viewing their child. However, with standards - such as education used to have - the facts will prevail. Hard, measurable standards (i.e. as the National Bureau of Standards maintains) will settle the issue... except, of course, for eye appeal (my kid is prettier than yours)... that cannot be settled due to individual preferences. Cheers, RickO
I once saw a 1913 type one pcgs ms65 buffalo nickel that in my opinion would only grade ms61. What a doggie!!

but it happens every now and then.
take a look at the following 1913 type one buff that is out on eBay in ms66 grade. hard to believe this is an ms66!!
It happens now n then, but for the most part pcgs (and ngc) are pretty darn good.

To throw a little shade on the OP's scientific method here is "compelling evidence" to refute the OP's claim... This was recently graded within the last month and upgraded from ATS. That doesn't happen too often!
