Here are the 1949 PDS Franklins for my A toner Dansco. The P & S were imaged by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.

That will fit right into your collection, Sky. Great pick up.

I am not a collector of this series, because, well....the obverse is just not that appealing to me.

Also, not always a fan of toning.

Today, your triplets, have each hit a HOME RUN! Very nice. Very nice, indeed. Thank you for sharing.

I like Franklin half dollars, but I got burned on set when I was kid. When I bought them, they were supposed to be really nice coins. When I tried to selll them, they were "bottom of roll coins." Sound familiar?

I have all of the Proof coins and the 1948-9 coins, but probably won't go futher. Back in 1948 Nellie Taylow Ross hosted a dinner that celebrated the introduction of the Franklin Half Dollar. According to an article that appeared in The Numismatist each guest received a 1948 Franklin Half Dollar that was on a card or some sort of specail holder. I'd love to see one of the holders, or buy one of those coins, but I've even heard a rumor about one of them on the market.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    They all look great!

The 1949-S is especially nice and a key date to boot.
