How easy to commems cross between PCGS and NGC?

I saw a pretty cool commem the other day so I picked it up. It was in an NGC holder, but not expensive so I didn't worry about it. After doing just a little bit of research I saw that they seem to trade for about the same money whether they are in NGC or PCGS, or am I mistaken? It made me wonder if they cross fairly easily too. Educate me, it might help someone else. I've never owned a commem before. (I do have a lot of "just one" things thought
)

It depends upon which commem it is. If it one of the inexpensive issues, it might not matter. If it's one of the better ones it does. I am assuming that this is one of the "old commems" from 1954 or before.
It depends on the commem and the grade. If you're talking Pan Pac in 66, there will be a difference. If you're talking Iowa in 64, not so much. If you're talking modern, I have no idea.
Time was PCGS had it all over NGC in the modern coin market. With so much of the modern commemative coin market in the doldrums, it probably doesn't matter.
This would be a Hawaiian in 65. There are a ton of them in the census. So it's just like every other series. More about risk and politics than actual grading standards.
My own very limited crossover rate with commems is 60% ( from NGC to PCGS). As mentioned, the higher the price/grade, the less likely it's going to cross. Trying to get an NGC MS68 to cross to PCGS is very unlikely.
Commems and Early Type
I remember when the Commem Gods were pumping the market and promoting NGC as well a PCGS slabs as if there were no difference.
How does the commem market get pumped up and by who? Thanx
Jump in you time machine and go back to the late 1980s. The whole commemorative series was **a great investment. ** A coin company at the, Pine Tree, published a book on the "old commematives by Walter Breen and Anthony Swieteck. (sp) There was a section in the back projected what the prices of these coins would be 5 and 10 years in the future. The worst "investments" yielded returns of 100%. This is the stuff of promotion, and it all turned to smoke.
perxactly
Okay then it's just talk and no particular hoarding by a wealthy dealer or person(s) just market excitement. I see. Seems to me that people wouldn't fall for such a thing, but a new crowd every 20 years. I guess.
I crossed a decent number of them ( 13 out 16) clip in 66 and 67's this year. No real sursprises.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
The only two I've tried, crossed. Your grading skills should tell you whether or not it will cross.
When in doubt, crack them out....
.... at least that is what I have heard....

I was commenting on Doug's ability to grade. He is an astute collector, with a high end copper collection.
doesn't this always fall in the usual "depends" category?
