    They were struck in 1900 by Gorham in an edition of 10,000. the Peac**k jewelry company was founded in 1837, thus the date. Still a very nice design!

    I am sorry, but I don't think that piece has original red color. It's got the pinkish dipped, cleaned look. Red copper is not not my forte, and I don't have much of it, but an original piece should more like this.


    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I agree with @BillJones that the color in the OP looks odd.

    Here are photos of the three CDP tokens that are the easiest to acquire. For comparison to the OP, they each have a fair amount of natural red.



    And in addition to the brass token posted by @Zoins, there is also at least one large medal available to collectors. It is identical in design to the token. This one is bronze and is about 76mm in diameter.

    Thanks. Those were the entry door to the store on State St. they are in the Northbroom store now. The State St store in an Ulta Jewelers now.
