Looks like a proliferation of toned in the holder PCGS slabs from you know who..............

Notice the certs aren't viewable.

Do you think he is able to tone them in the holders? The toning is so off on so many, I can't believe the major services would miss so many.

Why else would he blur the cert. numbers? The coins are fugly and there would be no risk of someone stealing his images.

I am sure key largo and krypto were separate people, that then partnered for a little while. I think key largo was soty27 on here. Not the same person, I know I had met both of them over time.

But really, should anyone here pick up an inexpensive slab to check for signs of tampering? Maybe our host would be interested

Well the heat and humidity likely contribute to accelerated toning of reactive metals.

But of course not in this particular case

That's another thread (or two) in itself. He still has not communicated with his consignees and has already been contacted by an attorney or two.

I would think PCGS would be a very interested party in stopping this rip-off seller since his method of fraud is tampering with PCGS's reputation and grading. He's misrepresenting PCGS graded coins. I would contact PCGS and I expect PCGS would have success at contacting Ebay and/or having a lawyer get involved with him.

Somebody would need to record all of the PCGS cert numbers of the known PCGS "white" coins that we suspect were purchased by edynamicmarketing.

With the photographic originals in hand they would need to match up with one of edynamicmarketing's toned creations.

This is obviously why they are blurring the cert numbers. If a coin had a TrueView, and they were somewhat smart, it would be discarded.

edynamicmarketing's "Feedback as Buyer" can reveal much insight if someone took the time . . . the connection I made above with the PCGS Kennedy slabs was one example, but there are others also. I can see edynamicmarketing likes to sell Mexican Libertads and bought 7 raw 1982 dated "white" coins from the seller lildog555 not too long ago. Since this is a relatively recent transaction edynamicmarketing probably hasn't had time yet to receive, tone and list them but they are distinctive enough (marks, scrapes, hits) that they could be identified.

You essentially have to find multiple purchases where both the seller and buyer have left feedback for each other in order to figure it out. eBay obscures info now (Buyer: y***m, and I don't think there is rhyme or reason here which makes it doubly hard to figure) in the feedback system so it is difficult to trace and nearly impossible with only a single feedback transaction.

The y***M I seem to remember is not peculiar to you , every other person should see that also unless they have changed that recently.

I took one of his pics, replicated the sliver of barcode and skewed it clockwise about 30 degrees. Added some enhancement and voila!

    image

When I scan it, it comes up with this:

    No TrueVIew

    Cert # 80614398

    PCGS # 6709

    Date, mintmark 1966

    Denomination 50C

Country The United States of America

    Grade MS64

    Mintage 108,984,932

    Holder Type Standard

    Population

    512

    PCGS Price GuideSM Value: $16

So, I'm not entirely sure why he's blurring them out if they don't have a TrueView.

Probably to make it more difficult for someone to match it up with the earlier auctions where he purchased the untoned coins.

Looking at his Ebay store, he's artificially toning Morgans and Peace Dollars also.

They have 452 PCGS certified pieces for sale on ebay right now:
    ebay.com

If the link doesn't work you can search for seller: edynamicmarketing and then enter PCGS into the search. A lot of questionable pieces. A lot. Heck he's got bucket full of "Monster rainbow toned" PCGS slabbed state quarters available!

I just caught this guy buying a coin from me and then listing it less than 13 minutes later in his eBay store, using my images!!! WTF is with this guy?

I created a thread on it Here

I'm not sure how he could possibly gas these coins with the new air tight PCGS slabs unless he is avoiding these types off slabs all together. I bought a 1965 SMS from him a month ago. I bought it before I did my research on the guy. Its a beautiful coin. I'm scratching my head on how this is done, especially with concentric toning patterns on most of them. Here is my coin:

It continues... in a slab, out of a slab.... the focus on environmental damage (pretty colors etc.), while originally sought for a testament to a coins 'original skin' - and even that was wrong - has grown as a 'collectible and desirable' condition in the eyes of new and even established collectors. Plus.. and this is a big PLUS, it brings PROFIT!! This charade will continue and grow as long as premiums continue to be paid - paid willingly - for environmental damage (tarnish). The point of continual amazement, for me, is why? Why waste money on nothing but surface damage? If one, anyone, wants a coin in such condition, save yourself money and do it at home. Your coin, do what you want to it and have fun. Cheers, RickO

Yours is an older slab and I haven't run across any that are in the Gen 6.0 slabs. Do we need to ensure all our toners are in Gen 6.0 slabs now?

Notice how all of the coins are lower grade 62, 63 so his initial costs are minimal.
