What is an acceptable time for someone to ship your coin purchased on eBay?

1, 2, 3 ?? How many days? Say from a massive coin seller with 10k+ feedback/transactions? I ask cause I have a feeling I won a coin cheaper than it should have sold and this seller is known to shill bid...maybe I slipped through cracks? Couple days have gone by and still isn't shipped. Don't know if I should let it be another day / two and if 5 days goes by to ping them. I don't want them to cancel transaction. I want my coin :)

Is it possible that it has been shipped, but they have not yet uploaded shipping information to ebay?

An eBay "PowerSeller" has to have a 1 day handling time.
If you look at the Shipping line, it shows the estimated delivery date. This includes the handling time plus eBay's estimate of how long it will take in transit.

Some sellers are slower than others. I think waiting 5 days before sending a message is a reasonable wait time.

How about 5 days from a forum member to ship? Must be Very Busy. Its no big deal though as long as I get the coins.

I ship next day about 90% of the time when I can't ship same day.
I try to provide good service.....but the rest is up to the USPS.

That's great  ... made me laugh.

I'll let it go another couple days. Hopefully they will ship. They are a mega seller and ship quickly (usually) but there might be extenuating circumstances or something. My spidey sense might be on alert for no reason. Will know soon enough...

I've waited up to a week, I figure it has lived the last 100+ years of its life without me, a few more days ain't gonna hurt.

Lot of "hurry up and wait" in this hobby.

If a coin hasn't shipped within the sellers specified shipping time I simply send a quick message asking if they have a tracking number.

With the Top seller discount being slashed (from 20% to 10%) you will see less sellers complying with this requirement. That and kissing up to every rouge buyer and their illegitimate demands.

I am kind of glad that we have by fiat been unencumbered and can return to doing business. Albeit at a much higher transaction cost.

I specify a 3-day handling time, but almost everything goes out the next day.

    3 days.

Most sellers require you pay within 3 business days, so I would agree that at most 3 days to ship.

For Top Rated sellers they have to ship within the next business day to keep their rating- and the discount (as mentioned dropped from 20% to 10%). For me it is still worth keeping the Top Rated seller status- the extra 10% helps cover the eBay store fee- so I still ship next day.

Imho, should be within 1-2 working days.
That said, some of them will do the initial bit, so it shows as "shipped", but it is only the label printed out.

I have had a couple of issues with big sellers on ebay doing this.

One of them was Apmex. I waited ~5 days (including 2 weekend days) and then pinged them to see about an update. It had gotten "lost in their processes" and hadn't actually been shipped out. They got it out next day.

Another one was marked as shipped. A week later, I inquired. A day later, I was refunded as they had no more in stock (and it had NEVER shipped out...they had just marked it shipped). I was counting on that item, and the timing to get it, so that really PO'ed me.

Another one, going on right now.....seller doesn't mention the shipping method until AFTER you pay. Then it says it was shipped DHL. It's been over a week, no item. I contacted seller and they are going to replace. There is a tracking #, but it shows nothing.

What I am trying to get it......feel free to ask them after a couple of days if you can't track it as it may never have gotten out.....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I expect prompt shipping and dealing with ebay have had good results - except once (which I have detailed here before). For that one, I simply continued to query (nice way of saying harass) the seller, since I knew he was not happy with the selling price. My final threats did the trick and I received the coins. Cheers, RickO

3 days, including a weekend (shipping Saturday always possible). Same as what is expected of a buyer. In the modern era of convenient payment/shipping that is reasonable.

Of course allowances are made for someone who proactively states they are at a show or something and it might be a day or so delayed, or on the buy side, if they are bidding on more than one auction with a farther out end date. This requires prompt communication to be acceptable.

Rick I feel this might be at play. I sent the seller a message through eBay yesterday morning, still no reply. Also the seller has not shipped the item. It's not my fault I won the item, and I promptly paid for it (within a minute). I feel like this coin-only seller with more than 100,000 feedbacks would have already shipped a coin that I paid for 5 days ago...or at least reply to my message/inquiry.

Maybe they just hope I get disenchanted, open up a case, which they will refund my money and somehow this coin will be back up for sale only this time shill-bid to go higher.

I might just be imagining things, but with this seller it's not out of the realm and there really is no reason why 5 days later they haven't shipped me the coin nor responded to my contact request initiated yesterday morning.

Another issue I encounter is when a shipping label is printed but the item is not shipped for days afterwards. Not sure why a seller bothers to do that as eBay requires an acceptance or tracking scan in the system to qualify as shipped for power seller discounts.

For this try going to a B&M shop
It may pay off more than you know only after you establish a GOOD relationship with the dealer!

Coins should ship within two weeks of purchase or when it is convenient to the seller, which ever day comes up first.

you forgot to say, "unless he wants to keep your money an the coin"

    Don't quote me on that.

I bend over backwards to serve paying customers because they are willing to buy at reasonable prices it is the least I can do. A couple days ago I had someone buy 4 items and though I was having a water pump, etc. put in my car, I made sure that the packages went out and I went to the distribution center post office handing them to the outgoing truck at 6:30. If it can be done it should be shipped out same day, though I understand impediments.

You may well be surprised to learn Paypal protects you, the buyer, a bit longer than that.

On eBay I changed my processing time from 1 day to 3 days which I think is more reasonable for me. Still, sometimes if I am out of town for a few days it might be a bit longer than this. It all depends on the personal circumstances of the seller. I know that eBay would like you to process all of your orders on day one, offer anyone an unconditional 60 day return, but it is not reasonable for most sellers.

You can check within the eBay auction what his processing time is. After that you can bombard him with emails every day wanting to know when you are going to see the tracking number within eBay. Of course you may just pizz him of and you will have to wait a bit longer bedcause of your actions.
