Coin is so rare I can't value it

Hey guys. I bought a 1905 s/s Quarter Eagle a long time ago from a pawn shop. Graded AU58. Slabbed by a reputable company, but not my favorite. Now it's time to sell it, and I've learned there are only a handful slabbed, so I can't figure out the value of it. Any guesses?
Really enjoying collecting coins and currency again

What is a 1905 s/s Quarter Eagle? Only Philly minted quarter eagles in 1905, right? Very common in high grade.
Lance.
What slab? My guess is counterfeit
mark
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
1905S quarter eagles are counterfeit..... sorry for the bad news.... Cheers, RickO
Oh my God. This is what happens when you post late at night. It's a HALF eagle. Not a Quarter Eagle. It's a $5 gold piece. ANACS, btw.

Check ebay, there are a few listed-------I posted a link here, it wouldn't work.
Can you recommend a key word? I put in "s over s" and s/s and I didn't see any

OOPS, I searched for 1905 S, been up all night!
In general, there's little premium
for RPM Gold, unless it's a dramatic
relaunched mintmark.
There's just not enough gold collectors
who also collect RPM's, so there are more
out there than there are collectors.
Because of the high base price of the gold coin itself,
it wouldn't be of interest to the vast majority of
die variety collectors, and they can still be found by
cherrypicking.
There's very few slabbed because most submitters
probably didn't even notice an S/S on their coin.
Because it's slabbed, you might get some small
premium in an auction, like Ebay, but probably
not enough for a dinner at the Palm.
Just my view......
just because it is 'rare' does not mean it is 'valuable'
the premium for S/S FS-501 does not seem great

ebay has 10 or so 1905-S half eagles. But I couldn't find any S/S examples.
Can we see the coin?
Lance.
What Fred says. Most TPG's would ignore it unless you paid extra to have it on the label, and even then most collectors would not care.
Another minor variety with little or no following and little or no premium likely as a result. Think of how few collect this series by date and mint mark, let alone by variety.
Thanks guys. I get it. It might be rarely noted on the slab, but no significant premium. Thanks.

I collect gold, and like oddities like this. I might have some interest.
RPMs in gold are a tough sell.
If you can get any premium, you will be fortunate.
As others have said, lack of demand coupled with high intrinsic value equals a coin likely to stay in your case for a while.
It's similar to finding a really nice radar note or fancy number on a $100 bill.
As said above, likely no premium... However, it would be nice to see the MM you have... Cheers, RickO
