I realize parts of the coin have what is often termed "pull away" toning, but the colors that show up on my screen look AT.

Looks NT to me. Possibly from a Tidy House holder.

Looks NT to me, and a real nice one at that. I agree though, artificial toning seems to be getting harder and harder to distinguish from NT over time.

It's a toss-up. I would say it's market acceptable and am pretty sure it would be bid up over $100 as is (raw) in an ebay auction. It's likely worth trying to certify it.

I'm on the natural side of the vote as well. I like it and I would buy it if I came across it.

AT... and the A stands for 'accelerated' in this case.... Cheers, RickO

As I think about it... the Tidy House Dollar mentioned may be a possibility. I have a Tidy House holder with two Kennedy halves, and they have some of the most absolute wild toning... and if I recall, one of them has very similar color and pattern as the silver dollar pictured. Don't have them handy right now... but if opportunity arises will try to post pics.

I have a '49P Franklin with toning pretty similar to the obverse of the posted coin, and I always thought it was AT (but it was attractive and cheap) - but it sounds like most members are voting NT, so who knows?

AT/NT? Unsure. Looks MA. I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to this and I think a large percentage of toned coins in today's marketplace had help.

Wow. I'm really surprised at all the votes for NT. I was expecting an overwhelming majority of votes for AT.
i wouldn't buy that thing as natural.

Image colors look a little saturated to me. And the toning looks accelerated. Probably MA but I don't think it's natural.

I don't like what shows as pink on my monitor. It looks like aftermarket toning in a tidy house, or similar, type of holder. That would put it, imho, as NT.
However, it does have some look that I don't like (aforementioned pinkish look) which would keep me from paying too much for the toning.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

The saturation/color is off some in the photo. In person, does not really show as pink (but then again, I am partially color-blind so...). Color is more lavender - gold - bronze - red kind of all blended together on the obverse. Reverse is more yellow-gold in center and lavender, blues, violets near the rim.

Another thing photo does not show... the colors are not flat. Strong luster shines right through the colors.

I had one a few years ago that looked almost identical to yours on the reverse. PCGS details graded it. In my opinion mine and yours have natural toning.

    NT for me.
I've had a couple very similar recently graded.
I think they were knocked down a little because of the muddy toning.
