Do you own any signed slabs? Like Moy, Jones, Mercanti?

Personally I don't see the appeal, but they do sell for a premium.
Other than Mint leaders I'm not sure what other ones are available?
If you have them, do you collect them all?

    only by coincidence

I know initially they go for a premium. are you seeing a premium 1 year or 2 years later?

I don't own any. I'd pay for one signed by Reich, Gobrecht or Longacre (ahem, the REAL one). B)

I have had the American Heroes Lance Armstrong & Jessica Lynch and a Mercanti signed Silver Eagle.... In each case I won them within a few dollars of what regular MS69 eagles were going for (it might have been $5 more on the Mercanti).... I always got a kick out of the Lance Armstrong Hero thing after he was disgraced from his sport

I just went back through my records PCGS 2004 MS69 Lance Armstrong Silver Eagle I paid 24.77 including shipping..... so it seems as if he brings the value down $5 haha

    Successful trades.... MichaelDixon,

Nope. Gimmicky and not worth a premium IMO.

I'm addicted to exonumia ... it is numismatic crack!

Find them to be a distraction. Elizabeth Jones was kind of cute though.

@messydesk....Those are cool, if authentic (no reason to doubt you)....However, I had not heard of these 'initialed' specimens before.... and the top one could be called a designer error due to the missing 'period' after the second initial.... Cheers, RickO

Don't own any. I think they're kind of cool but I'd only pay a very slight premium for them, if at all.

I had Glenna Goodacre sign them at the 2000 ANA show in Philadelphia when she was signing souvenir cards. I was thinking, "Why do I want a signed souvenir card? I want signed coins!" I wasn't thinking, "I should get these in TPG plastic as signed coins."

I have a two coin NGC holder with a couple of Cook Island coins in it, signed by Jimmy Buffet. This goes back several years and involved the immortal Mad Marty.

What drives me nuts is that they recognize the labels in the population reports.

Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.

I continually search eBay for a Rittenhouse. Few and far between.

They do, and there's a certain rarity to them, but the true numismatic gems are moderns in 65-67 holders. Far more rare than 69s and 70s.
