Thank You
ASE's, non proofs. All with some color but not wildly toned and all purchased for under $40 (most far less).

bob:)
Barber halves, trying to do fine. Very slow process as it's a side project to my Franklin set and most of my coin money goes to that series.

Also trying to fill these 2 Jefferson books from circulation.

I really like the look of those Barbers halves. It would be great to see it again as it progresses.
Just finished a set of UNC Indians in a Dansco . Bought a partial set last year from a customer, and decided to upgrade it and finish it to give me something to do. Just got it completed. All cracked from PCGS/NGC and a few anacs holders. incl several cac and photo sealed coins. I have a really nice 1877 in my core key date collection, that is photo sealed and cac'd, and hated to crack it, so I bought another pcgs 64 for the book. Cracked it out as well.
last three i needed: , thanks to rick snow for the 73, charmy for the 75 and finklestein for the 92. Also tossed in a 58 pattern ornamental shield reverse from Arizona rare coins cause it was cool!
Just added some quick pics down post so you can get the idea!
You cracked out a $7000 coin? Wow! I'd love to see that set. Any pictures?
Have collected Barber Halves for over 25 years in some fashion or another- always got my raw finds to slab then sold them, tho.
But it's been a goal to eventually do a bookshelf album. I'm only doing Whitman Book 1 (1892-1906) because anything after '05 and below XF, to me, is not as tough as I'd like. Short sets are good.
I slipped out my '97o and it's currently in with my annual free 8 submission at The House. Hoping for XF 40, if not, cracked and back into the empty slot it goes.
G/VG/F Walking Liberty half set. Purchased the 21 D at my coin dealer (Kearney Coin Center) this past Friday.
This has been an excellent set to collect for me, because of the beautiful art on this series and because of the grade range that I wanted to collect. Fully understand a G/VG/F set is not much to really assemble, but, imagine the stories these half dollars could tell?
I did the Franklins and Kennedy's about 20 years ago....still have them.... I did add some Kennedy's in the early 2000's..... Have not looked at them in years. I have some cent boards that I picked up at shows - full - just got away from albums and series... now just collect random coins that attract me... Cheers, RickO

At least it is not working for me.

Found this in another thread, may help
You have to copy the public page version of your sets to share. The link you posted goes to the clickers own set, like it took me to my "my sets" page.

I have all the pcgs, ngc and a few anacs labels (for every coin in this set)in another album cover where they are glued in. I bought a new dansco and put the coins in it.
This was the first set I put together as a junior collector back when I was 12-15 years old (only in F-VF of course), so I thought it would be neat to do it again.
You will also notice, I don't have the 69/9 and put the pattern 58 there, And the reason is I despise this coin, when I was collecting years ago, it was known as the 9/8. later in years it was determined to just be only a repunched 9, yet price stays high for whatever reason, to me this coin is not even as neat as some of the other varieties. It should have been removed from the albums IMO. I would rather have a spot for the 94 double date!
@jdimmick, very nice indeed, that last pic has some real lookers.
I will try to post pics as I add to the album. But what I have so far has been a 4+ year endeavor, so the updates will come very infrequently.
Nice.!.!
Awesome set, jdimmick!
That date run from 1867 to 1878 is freakin' killer!

Let's see what you got.
Those barber half sets....:drooooool:
i am working on an indian cent dansco album, but i'm not following @jdimmick 's post. nice work!
I maintain an uncirculated ASE Dansco. I guess I'll pick up a 2017 for it next week. Also a "dimes" Dansco Mercury through late 1970s Roosevelt.

I have a Whitman Canadian Small Cents from childhood. Filled it from circulation finds - got all of the Elizabeths and the 1931 George. Sat for decades. Finished it several years ago from Coin Show acquisitions. I don't have the album handy, but it is a nice looking collection....though my album ends shortly after the Centennial in 1967.
Did the same thing as a kid. Had to buy a few of the tougher dates from the 20's when I got back into the hobby about 20 years ago. Sprung for a used Whitman bookshelf album which runs to the early 2000's. Think I still need one from the 90s and one 2000-something that I can't recall just now.
Wowsers, there are some Lovely sets here!!! I particularly like JD's Indians.
As far as Dansco business strike sets go, I've put together:
A Peace dollar set.
Three Franklin sets,
A Washington set from 1932 - 1985 (still missing 3 clad date/mm),
Two Washington sets from 1940 - 1964.
I am currently working on the following business strike Dansco sets:
A Morgan date set.
An Eisenhower set.
A Susan B. Anthony set.
A Walking Liberty short set.
I am also working on the following Whitman business strike sets:
1935 - 1945 Mercurys.
1946 - 1964 Roosevelts.
And finally I'm working on a merged Whitman business strike set of Indians. What I mean by merged is that it turns out, one of (if not both) of my paternal grandparents collected coins. Given that most coin collectors are male, I would have assumed it was my grandfather who collected the coins. He died before I was born. My grandmother died in 1986 just before I started getting interested in collecting coins in 1988. I received a box of coins from her estate, that included coins in OGP from after the year of my grandfather's death, so she may have been the collector. While most of the coins were low grade generic, there was a partially filled IHC Whitman album. I would guess the average grade of the coins in the album would be in the VF 25 to 30 range, although there's a fairly wide spread of technical conditions. A couple of years ago I decided to complete it. The set was complete from 1859 - 1883 (barring the 1864 L and the 1876), and had about 40% of the 1884 - 1909 slots filled.
At first I decided to complete the IHC set in the condition it was in, and then realized that I could choose my own conditions, so I decided to fill in all the holes (I still need the 1909-S), and upgrade many of the 1880 - 1909 coins, with significantly higher quality coins. So, barring the 1908-S and 1909-S, all the coins from 1890 forward are at least MS63.
Anyhow, here are some pix of coins from the Peace, Franklin and Washington sets...
U.S. Type Set
I am actually working on a set of the albums themselves, Whitman Bookshelf, including those made for foreign coins. I picked up a couple of British albums that came with some coins, too.

That is quite the undertaking, best of luck with all that. looking forward to seeing more pics.

I've been regularly posting Washingtons from the A and B Dansco albums. You can do a search under Dansco in the title and you should find a variety of posts. It's been awhile since I've posted the Franklins, but they most likely would also come up under Dansco in the title, it's just that those posts would be over a year old.
The Peace dollar posts I do as an every now and then thing. I posted the 1923 PDS yesterday.
The SBA's are all posted in one post. Here's the link:

U.S. Type Set
Best shots I could get through plastic. Too lazy to disassemble holder. This started out with a $25 purchase of seven coins in the holder from an antique shop, and was a diversion from my primary interest, Buffalo nickels. Have to admit it was generally put together with price in mind. Most of the earlier dates were PCGS 64s, and the 36 was a 62. The 1965 and 66 are SMS. Still fun to look at the nice, shiny coins.
I had so much fun completing the Dansco 7070 type set album the first time, I decided to get another one and do it again
Here are a few random shots..

@OnWithTheHunt, Nice and Shiny is right, Nice set. @Baley, Great looking type set, thanks for sharing. What, no Buffs, Mercs, Walkers , I know you got em.
Baley, I like how you used a '26 for your Peace dollar (a little less common). Nice toners too.

Hope to add some soon.

When I think of "poor man's" I imagine low grades.
My albums are "virtual" ones, meaning that they are all housed in PCGS holders.

Collections range from 2 uncirculated Roosies, Uncirculated Merc Dimes, Gem or Near-Gem (with clean cheek) Morgans (worked through common into semi-common and growing upward), Uncirculated Washington quarter sets. I had been collecting Dahlonega $5's in the past in VF-XF until the last decade downturn.
My main goal currently is analytical study and in-depth understanding around Barber issues. I have currently been collecting tougher date mid-circulated grade Barber dimes, a second set of Barber quarters in XF grades, and the following Barber quarters nearly complete in F/VF (Not shown is quarters not raw and in third-party holders):

Oh, Also forgot to mention the 20th Century type. Found a nicely toned '22D Peace dollar but haven't located the right Liberty Head nickel yet.

@sedulous, nice sets
Nice, sedulous!
I would love to find an older Barber quarter album to house my coins in! Right now they are in 2x2's, primarily the better dates in the series, stuffed in a paper bag, waiting for me to decide what I'm going to do with them.
Here is the '22-D Peace Dollar being added to the type set...

Hey, I've completed my Walker short set in primarily MS64. The '43-S is trashy. I simply cannot find a nice '43-S anywhere. The '42-P was in an NGC 64 holder but I cracked it and sent it into our hosts... the grade was off IMO and I think it has a shot at 66. The '41-S has partial thumb and is PC64. '44-S same deal. I was fortunate to pick a '46-S in 64 with nearly full thumb raw from the local shop here.
I hope to get around to finding some time to share some pics, I'll do so.
Update: The '42-P Walker just came back MS-66 from PCGS. Nice upgrade from a crackout. I'm doing the happy dance!

Never filled an album before. Never even HAD an album before. Going to work on this one first ... just purchased the other day.

Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]
msla, Best wishes on your endeavors! that is a fun one I bet. Have you taken a look yet at what others have been accomplishing over on the PCGS Registry?
