How about a Proof Mercury Dime Post?

Got my first proof mercury dime in the mail today. Pretty cool little coin. I was also surprised at the low mintage. A little less than 12,000 for this date:

For some reason the fingers don't seem to bother me as they have on some small coins in these sorts of holders.
I do like how you can see the rim and edge.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Ya I know its an old post, But why don't we have a Proof Mercury Post
Especially with Rodgers book coming out soon, Please share em if ya
got em.

I saw the avatar (icon) and the name and my heart went into my throat a bit. Here is why.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Reported Mintage: 11,827
Net Available: 11,760
Pieces Struck: 15,000
Sales: 11,400 (approx)
What is a difference between these and a highly professionally buffed and polished regular dime?
Other than some shiny spots, just about everything. Edge/reeding, rims, fields, design detail, etc. [RE: 'details' usually, better on nice circulation pieces.]
There was a post about 3 weeks ago illustrating a bunch of polished coins being hawked as a 1936 "Proof Set."

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Only saw the whole set pic on my pc. So...

Colorado faked "Proofs" that are color coded and not correct for the dates and weights. Troublesome stuff unless you buy them authenticated and professionally graded (pcgs).
@mgoodm3... That '42 proof haunts my coin dreams..... would love to find one like that...likely lost in the annals of collectors in the last eight years....

That thread made me cry. Your tribute was very touching, and I think it was a very thoughtful gesture to give his family the CBQ you referenced that he had owned before his death.

So many proofs from 1940-1942 were treated with neglect by owners and descendants, that finding a nice one can be a challenge. The fad of authentication and "grading" has further limited collector options because of the added cost.
