Will there be pedestrian coins on the bourse at Whitman Baltimore, or just Longacre-level offings?
As I write these words, Longacre is planning out his visit to the Whitman show in Baltimore. My visit highly anticipated, I will be sure to make time to interact with any fans from the boards (at a safe distance, of course).
Given that I may have a small entourage with me, I was wondering if there were more, shall we say, pedestrian level coins in a certain section of the bourse? For example, things like 2x2s, unslabbed raw coins, junk boxes, foreign coins, and the like. I may be with someone who likes to view the coins of the hoi polloi, rather than Longacre-level numismatic items. Does anyone know?
Also, although I will be hard to miss being carried throughout the bourse on my ornamental sedan, below is my picture in case you want to introduce yourself to me.

He's a hard one to miss... for sure. I'll be there. On the lookout.

There will be pedestrian coins available for 'common peasants'.
But not for the more cavalier and prestigious.

If you search the entire bourse in detail, I am sure that you will find some peasant quality coins. All it takes is a little bit of looking past the glitter.
Ya know, funny you post this. I was just pondering the other day how I missed posts from some folks on the board and you were one of them. Enjoy the show and thanks for brightening my day! If, after the show, you wish to post some photos of some of the plebeian items that some in your entourage might have purchased for amusement, please do so!

Smoeone please post a pic of Naven Johnson !
Coins for the "Common Man" will be available in the bourse. The good stuff will be in the secret room on the 2nd floor near the bagel stand. There's no obvious door but Longacre's signet will open it on command. However, the special handshake is required for full admittance. All items are unpriced -- if you must ask you don't belong in the room.
Have you man call my man and I will arrange to show you the entrance -- but be advised, there is no exit -- just follow the flamingos and egress.
Oh Dear. A pedestrian Longacre? My Heavens!
Longacre, there is generally an entire wing devoted to coins du riff-raff. Careful though, as there is a one-way force field...like a roach motel...you can get in that section but you can't get out.
I say old man, will you have your wife Lovey in tow ?
Err, ah, nevah mind. I'm confusing you with Thurston Howell III.

In my detailed discussions with attending dealers who pay "top dollar" I have learned that even dreck will be available on the bourse floor and will be contained in cardboard 2x2s with rusty staples. Since this material will be "priced to move" I'm sure you will be able to find some real treasures.

I anxiously await your pronouncements on the quality of the offerings.... Will you only be viewing gold? Or will you also consider perhaps the 1794 dollar? - Should there be one of sufficient quality of course....
