As with many collectors, I developed an interest in rare coins as a kid. I recall picking up silver halves at the bank at face in the mid to late 1960's. I really had no real focus though on collecting, and today still pick up nice type pieces rather than assembling a collection by date and mintmark.
As an "ON" (old numismatist), I am in a better position to dive more deeply into the hobby. My interests include mostly Nineteenth Century silver coinage. I have never found a proof coin of that era that I couldn't resist, though at the higher price ranges, many have resisted me.
Look forward to learning from and enjoying stories from this esteemed group.
