Just finished my lastest project : Toning Types (Peace $) Capital Plastics Holder

Years ago I have the pleasure of seeing Bryan's (GSAGUY) Morgan display like this at Long Beach. His set was breathtaking. So I vowed to do the same with toned Peace $. Its not been easy searching out raw Unc examples with reverse toning without paying a huge premium. And the hardest coin to find was the Textile example. Its got just a hint of dimpling. And finding the Capitol Plastic holder wasnt easy either... lol

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I just used my iPad...

That type of capital plastic holder must be rare in of itself!

Very cool collection, sure to draw attention wherever it's shown, you don't see that everyday.

I'd like to get a holder like that. I can just about put together all the types from my peace dollar collection.

I like it a lot my coin brother!! Very nice indeed.

    Really Neat Set.

I am curious if that was a product that Capital Plastics sold regularly or was it a custom order? Never seen one like that before.

Thanks everyone... I might upgrade it at some point but its tough. When I find a really nice toned Peace $ my first inclination is to get them graded... but I might have to add a few better examples at some point. Its been a 8 year project so it might be a lifelong project.

As for the Capitol Plastics holder, Ive only seen 2 in my life, GSAGUYs and this one. I would have bought more if I did. If you ever see one I would recommend buying it. Its probably one of their more rare issues.

I have a friend that has one but its a 3-piece morgan holder. He gets more offers to buy the holder sans coins than he does with the coins. And they are nice coins. Go figure. I guess people really like these "types of toning" holders and want them as a cool project to complete themselves

Very cool display. My favorite on Peace is target, especially when it's only black with little or no additional color.
But you have it all there, great.

A little something I did years ago. I think Gsaguy had these custom made. I got mine from him. Most of the images are scans I did at the time.

Beautiful set stman! Thank you for sharing. I didnt realize Bryan (GSAGUY) had these specially made. Now I know why Ive seen so few of them. I wonder how many he had made.

Very interesting holder.... GSAGUY had some amazing Morgans... I purchased some unopened GSA coins from him. None would qualify for one of those holders though :D Cheers, RickO

Didn't want to derail the thread, but thanks. OP hadn't seen any more of these holders around. Hey, If any of the coins in my holder used to be PCGS, NGC, raw, can you tell which one/one's? How about the NGC*? Old holders? The sticker mill wasn't born when I did this project. Which I'm sure Tonerguy will say, it is a lot of fun. It must have taken him a good amount of time.

Very nice. I really want the 1881 (s?) as it matches my 21s (which I just posted to the "favorite Morgan toner" thread of you want to check it out)
