Lamination error or just nasty scratch?

I assumed this was simply a scratch and was content with a damaged circulated Lincoln but upon closer inspection, it almost appears that the "scratch" goes under the rim but isn't 100% clear and could just start at the rim. I've seen lamination errors before but that's about the extent of my experience. Could this be a lamination issue or a strike-through or just wishful thinking and it's a nasty scratch and nothing more?
Thanks in advance!

i would say a nasty scratch. jmo ( and hope its wrong )
My first impression was ~ouch~ a scrape (scratch) but it would have to be looked at carefully to make sure it's a not a 'strike through' (it missed the top of the A in STATES, how'd it do that?) or a lamination planchet flaw.

Strike through to me. Look the letter "T" and you should be able to find a clue.
Yes, I think that struck through is the best possibility. I think that it still has a negative effect on the value, even if it is mint caused.
Some form of struck thru. Does not look like any of the 100's of Lincoln Cent laminations in my collection. Don't see evidence of the jagged edges or peeled look most lam. possess.
I would call it a strike through.... no lamination peel.... Cheers, RickO
