Time to try something new
I've been working in NYC while maintaining a home in LA the past two years. Two of my favorite cities but not the idea commute. Next week I start the next chapter in my life. I will be working in Mexico City by request ( Monday - Thursday ) and coming home on the weekends ( LA) it cuts down on the commute and I get to spend more time in my own bed . Post a coin with a south of the border flare if you wish.
I just hope I will be able to fly over or around the wall.

Mexico City has produced some of the coolest coins IMHO

¡Felicidades, señor MJ!
Me gusta el entonado de su moneda.
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Mexican coins circulated in the British colonies and U.S., right up to the eve of the Civil War. The piece below was counterstamped by a framer working in Manhattan (NYC) in the 1850's.

Beautiful coin, @Justacommeman.
This one seems appropriate. North & South juxtaposition...

Best of luck with the new arrangement!
Very cool coin and good luck in Mexico.
I just spent ~6 of the last 8 weeks working with my team in Mexicali.
Great people, food, and beer, but wouldn't want to live there, and this is considered one
of the more prosperous, safer cities.
BTW - Dos Equis is not well regarded by the locals (though I drink it stateside), and virtually no one drinks Corona there. It is priced below Bud Light and everything else on the menus.
Sample the Modela Negra, as it is wonderful and better than what they export, and there is a huge craft beer boom (at least in Mexicali), with limitless selections and very reasonable prices in US dollars.
I figured this would happen. The new Dos Equis guy is a loser.
Enjoy and stay thirsty my friend.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
Nice - much better commute. Love the coins!
If they build a wall, opportunists will just make more renting out tunnels.
Well, you won't have to deal with this Northeast winter weather! I would drink to that!!

Wishing you happy travels!
These ended up traveling northward quite some time ago ---
Good luck! Nice set @Cardinal!

U.S. Type Set
Don't worry about getting over/around the wall Mark. The Mexicans are asking for it to be an Olympic event.

Since this is a U.S. Coin forum, here is my U.S. Coin with a "south of the border flare." The gold planchets for the UHR were sourced from "south of the border," - actually quite a bit "south of the border," coming from Australia.
The other candidate from my collection as a U.S. Coin with a "south of the border flare" would be the Octagonal Pan-Pac that commemorated the Panama-Pacific opening of the Panama Canal.
Since I don't have a photo available to post of the gold Pan-Pac Octagonal in my collection, here is a photo of its companion, also from my collection, the 1915 Pan-Pac Expo medal:
A little further south as well.
Good luck with the new position.... commutes can be tough. I worked outside of Chicago for nine months, commuting home to NYS on Friday and back on Monday..... Would not want to do that again. Cheers, RickO
Speaking of Walls...
A 1882 (dated on the outer wall) Mexican 5 Centavos 19th Century Mint Error Die Cap with what looks to be a attached interior lamination.
I'm a tequila and mescal man from way back. I'm downright giddy!
