What is the width of your safe deposit box?

I'm thinking about ordering a custom-made safe-deposit-box-friendly slab storage system. If enough people are using similar safe deposit boxes, I might submit a larger order and distribute among my friends. (I have no interest in getting into the coin supplies business beyond this one order!)
Most boxes I've seen are 5" or 10" wide, externally. Internally, the width of my 10" box accommodates the length of one slab box.
What is the width of your safe deposit box?

Think it is 12 inches but am not sure. Will measure it the next time I go.
Fits three side-by-side PCGS slab holders perfectly.

Mine fits 14 NGC boxes lengthwise, three rows across (with the middle row on their side to allow for an extra box) and two rows deep.
Since at the moment I have more NGC coins than PCGS, I use NGC boxes for most everything.
PCGS boxes fit width-wise inside, so it's probably the same size as Mr. Eureka's.
Do you have a photo of what you are describing?
My box's dimensions will probably be useless for this project- it's exactly wide enough to hold one PCGS box and one red 2x2 cardboard box, which by simulation is 5 1/8" or 13cm. Larger/more useful box dimensions are simply not available at the most convenient branch to me. As it is this one is one size up from the smallest, which isn't big enough even for a PCGS box on it's side.
I know I can get 480 sighs in there, because sighs matter!
I don't know how you other guys fill your safe deposit boxes with PCGS coin boxes, but I like to label my slab boxes on end, so I stand the boxes on end. That way, I can better grab the box I want while looking at the labels at the end of the box.
I should also mention that NGC coin boxes are too long to fit into my safety deposit boxes standing on end. Maybe that is why I no longer buy NGC coins.
I have several. All but one are just the regulation common size. Don't know the dimensions but I can say that the pcgs slabs fit PERFECTLY! It's almost as if someone did their homework. I would like to thank that someone. Thank you, someone!

10" x 10" at my bank. I arrange for bank staff to remove the metal storage box so I can better utilize the available space.

I keep 2 boxes just for the heck of it. It also manages the weight.

Mine's 5 * 10. I have six intercept shield boxes of 20 coins each inside of it, 3 lengthwise, 2 widthwise. Have them standing upright. Don't know if I could double the space if I laid them down on their sides.

I have a 3"x10"x24". The standard small boxes are usually 3"x5"x24". Large sizes are commonly 5"x10"x24" and 10"x10"x24".
Yes. It should be remembered the box inside is smaller.
10.5" wide, with about 10" useable width.
It is somewhat shorter in length than my most recent boating accident.
And somewhat narrower than my stretch of the truth at the banque when they ask about the contents.
Mine is 5'6"x30"x30"...... OK.. it is a safe, not a box....well....it is box shaped.... Just a LARGE box... and steel, very heavy (750 lbs) steel...

The Hamilton standard for SDB width is 10 3/8" hope that helps, American (brand) is 10"
I recomend not keeping coins in a SDB at all!

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking in terms of trays that will compactly house 9 slabs, 3X3. Two stacks of these would fit in a 10" wide box. Eight trays would fit into a standard showcase, with room to spare. Before I order them, does anyone here have a better idea?

Andy, not sure of your 8 tray to a case, I know that the current trays with 9 slabs that we use I can only get 4 into a case. The allstate cases are 22" x 34" Not saying you are wrong, Im just saying double check your size because Im not sure you can get 8 trays into a case?
I thought that the Allstate cases were 24x36, in which case 8 trays would have fit. But you are correct, and they won't. Thank you!
