Just catching up and so glad to hear you are on the mend. Sorry you had to go thru all that but great that you are getting back on track. See you on of these days!
Glad to hear things are coming along since we chatted shortly after your "event" - we need more sample guys around so take care of yourself!
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." My septuagenarian aunt had a mild stroke several years ago and had 3 different cancers (not metastasis) plus other health issues. She's back to normal and takes care of the daily needs and wants.
I don't know what your neurologist has to say, but I do wish to impart hope.
You obviously are getting somewhat back to normal if you close a stroke post with coin discussion
You're on the right track Oreville after dodging such a bullet. Best of luck with your new course. It's tough to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle even if we know exactly what to do. So many distractions along the way. An excellent website to get the best bang for the buck in the foods we eat is nutritionfacts.org/
Here's to as complete a recovery as possible. Myself, I went down steps the hard way, and detached my quad muscle from my knee. I had surgery to stich it all together again 6 month ago, and am 80% recovered. Walking without brace or crutches, stationary biking, steps (down is still hard). PT continues.
Wow, oreville, that sounds like it was too close for comfort. Happy to hear you're nearly 100% and have everything under control now. Best to you!
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Thank you all for the kind words. The neurologists stated that I did not have a blood clot going into my brain but that it was a deep in the brain stroke. They are slightly mystified as to the cause. I have no cardio issues and have not had long term diabetes as my eye blood vessels are similar to that of a 25 year old male. Very healthy. But I know I got lucky and dodged the "ghost"and will take great care of myself from here on in.
We all have nothing to be ashamed of as I was watching my sugar intake before the stroke but not doing so well on the carbs. But now I know better.
Some yogurts have over 10x the amount of sugar as others right next to it!! That was an eye opener!

bolivarshagnasty: Thanks for your advice. But why is a gear symbol used instead of simply the word EDIT.
Was I supposed to know what the gear symbol means?
It's universal for settings such as on a cellphone. I guess that's why they adopted it instead. So happy to hear you are feeling better sir.
Glad you are feeling better!
An IRS appt. would be enough to trigger a stroke, I've been 'fighting them for several years now.
They have Unlimited Resources, I don't.
My tax atty. bills at $210.00 per hour, my Wife tries to chit chat with him for a minute and I Jokingly holler at her, "That minute cost me $3.50."
Almost settled, be a nice little windfall, for me.
Again, glad you are feeling better, "Take Care."
That's more exciting than my quadruple by-pass on Halloween ... and I had a witch doctor at the VA who performed the operation.... She was good. I left the hospital on the fourth day after surgery. I still haven't been able to play the violin since then but I wasn't able to play it before then, either.
Am looking forward to playing my guitar again, though.
Some guy walked in to the shop and sold me gold buffaloes the other day.
Glad to hear things are better! I, too have issues with glucose and BP. It's difficult to avoid sodium but I've been using Stevia for a while now and that has helped with the sugar levels.

I was very sorry to hear what you have been through and totally agree in healthy diets and lifestyles to hopefully prevent health problems as you indicated. I look forward to your thoughtful hobby participation in 2017!
I hope you will be feeling much better soon. I have enjoyed meeting you at past FUN shows.
