Who got coins from TeleTrade?

A number of the members had dealt with TeleTrade but do you still have any of them/
One of mine, a 1838 Classic $5 in a old NGC holder that now has a Gold sticker

Delicious!
My 1917 D Rev. MS 63 WLH was originally from Teletrade. It has a sharp strike and great luster. Looks better than many of today's 64s. Fields look pretty smooth to me, too. I don't have a decent image to post.

I'm sure I still have a few of them.
I know for a fact that I still have my FIRST certified coin. The ever-so-rare and desirable 1884O Morgan in the stratospheric grade of NGC MS-62. I paid like $26 for it!
It was my big step into "Big Boy" collecting.
I bought quite a few coins from Teletrade starting in 2004 and all the way up until they shutdown.
Ian Russell used to be president of Teletrade and when he left and founded GreatCollections in 2010, it was pretty much over for Teletrade. They shutdown for good, a few years later.
My best rip on Teletrade was this.

1899-o micro "o", NGC 63 for $80 (unattributed holder), now PCGS 62 worth $2500+
One of the last coins I bought from Teletrade in 2013 was this.

I bought tons of coins from teletrade and many are in my collection. Hard to believe they let teletrade die!
I think this is the only TT coin I still have. It's my type set Morgan, purchased in March of 2005.

That 1884 CC $20 is really something
^^ I was thinking the same thing. What a nice coin.
GreatCollections built a much better auction website experience, and customers chose to leave.
I hated the hidden reserves at Teletrade with the fake bidding increases during the first hours of the auction.
Although I did figure out the pattern of what the reserve price might be based on the first price posted when the auction started. It was 7 bid increments below the reserve price, unless there was someone who bid on the lot before the auction started. So if the price went up 7 increments during the auction, it was most likely the hidden reserve and would likely be listed as not sold, unless someone else placed one more bid. Auctions that increased more than 7 increments during the running time, were going to sell. So if you liked that coin you needed to bid.
one of my favorites came from TT.
I bought a number of $20 but I'd have to see the backs to tell which came from TT
Another coin, $2 1/2 Classic that was originally in anacs 55 holder but got upgraded by Anacsin the 90' to a 58
I should have pointed out that the color you see is the color of the coin
Thanks, I didn't catch the gold bug until 2013, so this was one of my first $20 Lib, that was a little more expensive. I didn't really have a good handle on what to look for. I now appreciate this coin more than when I first bought it.
You guys have caused me to dig up my old images and edit them out of curiosity.....an interesting activity for me.
Would you look at the thumb and index finger separations on this puppy!!
Just some light marks in the right field.
Old Teletrade '17 D rev. coin from around 2000/2001ish still in the same PCGS slab.

@Walkerfan
Nice thumb on that one. Some of the hands on those walkers can look like a "lobster claw".
Thanks! What I also like is that both branch stem lines are complete and you can even see the index and adjoining fingers with knuckles showing.

I've won a few bust halves years ago, my favorite however was this 1814 E/A. It was in an unattributed 1814 NGC 61 holder. It now resides in a PCGS 63 CAC holder
I've gotten quite a few nice coins from Teletrade, including from the days of the dial in bids. Too many to post, but here are a few:

Nice halfs.
I believe I have a chop marked Trade Dollar that came from Teletrade.... might have some others, though I never purchased from them directly. Cheers, RickO
Looks like we've all kept the nice ones
An unusual wear pattern with flawless fields
1820 Lg-O Pvgs 58 with sticker
The only one that comes to mind I know came from Teletrade is my SP69 1997 Jefferson Nickel. I am sure there are others.
I was active in the early days of Teletrade, when they were based in Kingston, N.Y. Remember well the crude computer generated voice, and especially the slow processing speed of their system when there was a lot of traffic, such as in the last minute of call time. Still managed to cherrypick A high grade 1878 7/8TF Morgan Dollar VAM 32 in unattributed PCGS holder, and still own one of the highest grade ultra rare 1878 8TF VAM 14.12 Morgan Dollars known today, that I won in an early TT auction. Still have a paper copy of that catalog with the lot highlighted.

I recall winning a few classic commems from Teletrade via phone bidding back in the mid to late 1990's. I am sure that I still have a few including a 1920 Pilgrim. It was like opening a buried treasure chest when the package arrived.
Here are a few coins I bought from TT in the late 90's. Good fun and some good coins.

Here are a few more. It seemed coins were less expensive back then.

At the time they branded there slabs:)

I have a couple still from the TT days. Most significant to me is this one, which I think I bought around 2003 in an old ANA holder. I still haven't bothered cracking it out and resubmitting to PCGS, but I plan on it one day. It looks nicer than MS-64 to me.

So I cleared out my browsers cache earlier today and came back to this thread.
Took a quite a while to reload and display all of the pics again.
There quite a bit of glorious bandwidth in this thread
Purchased several circulated commems from them. Hated to see TT go

I just remember. I got my 1911 matte proof Lincoln cent from Teletrade. Nice coin.
U.S. Type Set
