No, 1955-S is a very common hoarded date; most likely more gems exist than circulated pieces.
It would have to be a lock 7 to submit. Anything lower than that would be a losing proposition.3 -

Welcome! If you really want a cent of that particular date / mm, I would shop for one already graded. In the end it will be way cheaper than getting it done yourself. There's tons of them on eBay.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

It's not as much fun but by the time you have it graded with variety attribution you're buried in it.

Decades ago, I bought a roll of 56 D Lincoln cents and forgot about it. I stumbled onto it, went through them, and they were all reds with few tick marks. I was able to get a bulk grading price where only coins grading MS 66 or better would be charged grading fees.
If it wasn't for the bulk grading arrangement, there is no way I could have made money on these coins. Might add that the TPG and the buyer of the coins made more money from the transaction than I did; I don't have a problem with that, but just letting you know how the system works.

Sorry, but save your money and keep it raw.
The RETAIL Price guide for 1955-S in MS66 is $27, but goes to $175 in MS67.
With fees and postage it will cost you about $35 to submit it to PCGS
But what is fun is saving money so when you find a great coin, you can afford to buy it.
welcome
Thank u for all ur input I believe this coin I saw for 130 bucks was graded a ms 67 and I don't think this one is that high it does have a couple tiny scratches. But I do have a 1909 vdb that certain in the same roll and a 1943d rpm that are also in are about in proof like state
