What I got myself was not a coin but a bottle of very nice sippin' bourbon.
Enjoying in moderation. Sitting in front of the fireplace with a nice glass of whiskey is one of my small pleasures.
Definitely off-topic, but felt compelled to share.
Also I am lucky in that my neighbor, who in addition to being a very nice guy with an extensive library of history books, is also a quite accomplished beer brewer.
He sent me over some oatmeal/coffee stout that was so good he could have charged me for it!3 -

I bought these for my self. I kept my budget low as I was focused on getting gifts for the family over me. But I am ecstatic about these in hand. The best part was they were only $16.00 for both and they were bought on eBay.

I finally pulled the trigger and bought myself a decent camera. Canon Eos 450D with two lenses (18-55mm AF IS and 75-300 AF). My first coin photo was hand held with on-board flash (haven't bought a copy stand yet.

My grandfather(86) who got me started in coin collecting by taking me to coin clubs and a few shows when I was younger (I am only 22 and got started at about 15) got me some 90% for Christmas. Over the past few years he has gotten me a Booker commem, a few Morgan's, and a beautiful bust half dollar, all from his personal collection. Even though the Booker and Morgans might not be worth a ton I don't think I could ever sell them.

I bought this coin with some Christmas money. Seller's pics vs PCGS pic. I'm not even sure it's the same coin, but that cert number pulls that photo. I'm very curious to see it in hand. I'll be satisfied either way.

Bought two ASE's for my sub $40 toned set I'm building. I'm looking for original rim toned (not wild) for a set. Put a limit of $40 per coin and no higher.....Fun set to do and just a bit of patience is required.

Bought a couple weeks back, but it's my "Christmas present" just the same. Wife balked upon finding the receipt I negligently left out in the open, a rookie mistake I know. Ultimately, the woman had to acknowledge the rare opportunity this was to add to this medal in silver to my Merriam collection:
