The NGC Soap Bar Holder. Fatty Friday Post

Had the collection out for the first time in a few months and realized, again, how much I love coins, especially nice ones, in the old soap bar holders that NGC did for a while. I wish PCGS would come out with something like this now, and I wish they would put the label on the back. Nothing but the obverse of the coin on the front of the slab, similar to how the black slabs used to do it.
My reasons to love them:
**Super solid feeling
**The best stacking slab of all time
**The white background
**They tend to be undergraded
Post your old fatties for Friday!

Very nice, Brian.
@coinlieutenant that 1884 is really nice.
@78saen that Albany commem looks incredible... and undergraded.

Sorry, no pix of the slab, but this one is in a MS67 Fatty...
U.S. Type Set
--- it seems to be widely accepted that the coins in these holders tone as a result of the insert. does anyone have pictures of coins that were initially submitted and white, then pictures of the coins as they have changed??
absent that I suspect this may be anecdotal.
--- although I have NGC holdered coins I really dislike the white plastic, no matter what generation it may be.
its also nice to see the color of the slab and know that it's supposed to be white when judging photos

I have non-photographic evidence, (i.e., I have seen it, but didn't take pics), that toning IS imparted by the old ANACS small slabs....But nothing for the soapbar NGC slabs.

I happen to love them too. Very nice examples, coinlieutenant. Here's one of mine I like a lot. Yes it's a buffalo nickel, kinda nice and the slab is in A-1 condition

Beautiful Type 1 Hounddog.
I don't have a holder shot for this coin, but I always thought it likely to have been white when submitted-

why??
Is this in a fatty where the brown label has turned green?
nice fatties everyone. here's mine:
ya gotta love the gold beans. there sure is a lot of good coin here to
Because the particular shade of blue, in-hand, is such a good match to many vibrantly toned Mercs and Roosevelt dimes I have seen in fatty holders, as well as to some other toned proof Franklins in these holders.
