Another USPS thread.

So many people complain about the USPS, thought I would share this. Coins from PCGS mailed Oct 13th, arrived in Buffalo Oct 15th. Not too shabby USPS.

I've had good luck lately...2 day deliveries from the opposite coast for regular mail on multiple occasions.
I just sent something Express and the tracking was a bit messed up. I went into my little local PO (routinely full of nice people, both customers and workers!) and the clerk went to the super secret tracking system and confirmed all was okay AND got the peon version of tracking updated. A BTW FYI the clerks do seem to have a better tracking system--maybe it's just updated live vs. the website, but I digress.
Anyway, lately they have been making up for the time I sent a check from VA to NY and watched it sit in Denver for 17 days. There must have been a good party going on in Colorado. It did eventually arrive (did I mention that was a priority letter?) but by then I'd sent a replacement check.
The Reagan C&C was ordered on Tuesday, shipped on Wednesday via USPS, received Friday. Only minor complaints about the USPS. FedX on the other hand is not the superior company it once was. This tread is about the USPS so I will save my thoughts on FedX for another post.
I have been very satisfied with USPS.... always have had good delivery times both ways. I am surprised when I read some of the stories here....but I guess with the millions and millions of things they handle daily, a few issues do occur. Cheers, RickO
That's good and of course with every Happy story comes one that is not. I ordered this coin from a dealer Oct 1st. He mailed the coin on the 3rd in Beverly Hills. It went to the Notorious Anaheim office on the 4th and has not showed up here or anywhere.
Still shows Anaheim Oct 4th. I contact dealer and his reply was this happens every once in awhile? Now I really wanted this coin but as I have had other coins stolen from the Anaheim PO I fear this is just a repeat...
So I will get a refund sometime this week but would much rather
have the coin. I am leaving the coin in my set to see if anyone wants it released. I hate Anaheim PO....
Enjoy Tom
I used to be famous now I just collect coins.

Mine was a good news/bad news USPS day.
The good news is a package from CA arrived on time. The bad news is signature required and my carrier came by before doing the route to drop it...but I was out.
REAALLLYY good news is that she left the pink slip to pick up tomorrow BUT she brought it by on the normal route so I got it today after all (and she gave my dog a cookie).
Bad news: despite being well packed, something heavy clearly landed on it. There were slab imprints on the inner cardboard--despite bubble wrap, wrapped in a bag, in a cardboard box. And, this is what I got:
Good news: the slab is still sealed and the damage was away from the coin. Good Guy Seller will reimburse me all costs for a re-holder. Just grateful it was intact and the coin was not in the danger zone even it had broken all the way. It had to be some blow! There were two raw coins and a few other slabs in there and everything else survived. Yikes!
On the negative side, last week I had an express overnight delivery from MA to Cincinnati take 3 business days! That said, I do think the USPS generally does a great job.
