Chris ... does the Crawford have a shot at a TEN?

I really think so, Doug. It is among the non-HOFers that I've packed away to PSA on the $8.00 special. I know, it would be a good one. Have high gopes for the Murcer too.

I'm late to the party here. Always enjoy the rips, Chris. Thanks for sharing! A trip down memory lane as I opened a few '76 vending boxes back in '76.

I opened a 1976 vending as well. I am curious though based on your results. Did some of the 1976 vending not have traded cards mixed in? There were no traded cards in mine. Much of my box was oc which I was not pleased. No Aaron but an Eckersley, Ryan, two pretty nicely centered Bretts with no pd and a nicely centered sharp Rose. Thanks in advance.

Do you mind posting some scans of the Brett's and Ryan?

Ryan is OC. I can put Bretts and Rose up but dont have a site. Not sure how to get a pic up here. Any suggestions and can do today.

Join a site like Photobucket, add pictures to that website. Copy the URL of the picture from Photobucket and then when you reply use the picture frame icon to paste the URL into and you should be set.

Got your VM and now makes sense. Use photobucket which is easy to use. When posting select the item and delete everything outside the [IMG] brackets and you should be good. Thank you.

The Tradeds were really annoying in this vending box. There must have been two for every 10 cards in the box.

So do some boxes have tradeds and others not? None in mine although many oc cards.

Not all packs from 76 include traded cards. I would expect the same with vending.

If I remember correctly, the traded cards were released fairly early (like around April of 76)... so they are very prevalent. If that's true, then it's probably harder to find packs/boxes without the traded cards rather than with.

ETA: I also think that each traded card was triple printed, which is part of what makes them so annoying.

I opened two vending boxes a couple of years ago and one box contained 5 Bretts and 5 Ecks. The same box did not have one traded card or any other big named stars. The other vending I received horrible centering on the traded cards and one Ryan with very few stars once again. I believe both boxes had around 10% of extremely miscut cards.

I had no illusions about the Aaron, Eck and Brett. They were still worth grading.

But the Bench absolutely devastated me. And some of those 9s are heartbreakers.

I think those grades are great.

I'm sure you're disappointed by the Eck card?

But, that's a lot of fine cards.

Was the 20 the full sub?

Thanks Mike. Well, the Eck didn't look so hot. I was thinking 7 or 9(oc). My disappointment was it didn't come out of the box dead-centered lol.

I think I probably have another batch I could pull together for PSA from the box. But these were definitely what I considered my "money" cards.

I was talking about the "pull" - it's always disappointing to pull the "case" card and have it be a dud.

Overall - though nice cards. This is what I call a fun crapshoot - if ya would've pulled a 9 or a 10 Eck out of the box? Yahtzee!

Chris ... too bad that doesn't happen on MY submissions. LOL

Tim ... remember that '81 Rose that came back only a "9"? Thought for sure that was a Grand Slam and was coming back "10".
