Speaking of coin cabinets

I saw a post last week about a member who was building his own coin cabinet out of an old drawer. I thought I would post a photo or two of the coin cabinet I made awhile back. This cabinet is made out of solid walnut, and has 21 draws that hold my GSA collection when it is not in my safe deposit box. Hope you all like.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

On major reason the internet sucks.
Jack, if there's a six year old in the neighborhood they'll know what to do.

Nice Job, Looks Great!
Looks great!!
Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.
Hmmmm....knowing Jack this cabinet needs more drawers......
Looks great!!
You are correct. Holds 84 GSA coins, not nearly enough. I used velvet inserts that were designed for eight PCGS or NGC holders. I cut the left side divider and right side, leaving the middle devider and the four GSA's fit in there like a glove.
I could use another dozen or so draws.

Photobucket is so terribly laggy for me.
This isn't.
The best I've found that is also the simplest.

Also, Thanks topstuf for the link to postimage. So simple and quick to use. Worked great for me. Have always used photobucket, but lately some not so friendly changes have slowed the images down considerably.

You CAN do the photo bucket thing. Look at me, the serial procrastinator. I put that off for 14 years until last summer when I had to sell my neighbor's truck for him and post photos in on-line ads. At age 73 and not clear of mind, he was incapable of doing any of it himself following losing his license. So I fumbled around in photobucket for 10 minutes and finally got a link to work. Not so hard. What was I afraid of all those years? Haven't used it since...lol.

Very nice coin cabinet. Very funny post by lablover.
Now you only need a walk-in safe to display your treasures.

It's so true, those young ones really know the IT stuff. We ole farts still struggle, right Jack?
Jack, how long would it take to build one of those for PCGS slabs? I'll sign them up if you build...

Jim, that coin chest was originally built to house PCGS and NGC holdered coins. I modified it to accept my GSA collection. It was built over two weekends up here in the north during the winter when there is no golf. Have to do something or I would go crazy.

Very nice transformation and good craftsmanship.
As usual cabinets never seem large enough.
For another hobby of steam models my cabinet was way too small before it was half completed.

Bigal, very nice cabinet. You do it yourself?
Yes I did and I was happy with the result but probably could have done without the mirrors.
Glass and mirrors cost a fortune
Very nice work Jack...and great choice of wood. Cheers, RickO
Ditto and also like the steam engine cabinet. Certainly some talented persons here on this board.
