Speaking of coin cabinets

I saw a post last week about a member who was building his own coin cabinet out of an old drawer. I thought I would post a photo or two of the coin cabinet I made awhile back. This cabinet is made out of solid walnut, and has 21 draws that hold my GSA collection when it is not in my safe deposit box. Hope you all like.

Sorry but I suck at pictures I guess. I know it useless without them. I have tried every thing I know to post them and nothing works for me.

    Hi Jack

It looks like you are trying to link the pic directly from your desktop. That won't work.

You have to open up a Photobucket account (free) then download it there, THEN import it here from Photobucket.

You are correct. Holds 84 GSA coins, not nearly enough. I used velvet inserts that were designed for eight PCGS or NGC holders. I cut the left side divider and right side, leaving the middle devider and the four GSA's fit in there like a glove.
I could use another dozen or so draws.

Nice work, Jack. You should be proud of that.

Also, Thanks topstuf for the link to postimage. So simple and quick to use. Worked great for me. Have always used photobucket, but lately some not so friendly changes have slowed the images down considerably.

    Jack, nice cabinet.

You CAN do the photo bucket thing. Look at me, the serial procrastinator. I put that off for 14 years until last summer when I had to sell my neighbor's truck for him and post photos in on-line ads. At age 73 and not clear of mind, he was incapable of doing any of it himself following losing his license. So I fumbled around in photobucket for 10 minutes and finally got a link to work. Not so hard. What was I afraid of all those years? Haven't used it since...lol.

GREAT CABINET!!!! The hours to construct your masterpiece must be even more impressive than your choice of your black walnut wood selection.

Now you only need a walk-in safe to display your treasures.

Jim, that coin chest was originally built to house PCGS and NGC holdered coins. I modified it to accept my GSA collection. It was built over two weekends up here in the north during the winter when there is no golf. Have to do something or I would go crazy.

Very nice transformation and good craftsmanship.

As usual cabinets never seem large enough.

For another hobby of steam models my cabinet was way too small before it was half completed.

Yes I did and I was happy with the result but probably could have done without the mirrors.

Really nice, I forget what they call that type of cabinet, they are generally very expensive. I would love to have one for my closet.
