first year of issue (for mere mortals, at least):

look at that dirt! special thanks to ryk.

centennial date:

there is some kinda dirt barely clinging to the obverse of this coin. sure, it probably could have been easily removed before it was slabbed. luckily, it remains. the luster on the reverse is way more pronounced than this photo reveals. thanks to cro (www.coinraritiesonline.com).

I don't like the actual dirt on the 1850. Natural color is great but the dirt is a distraction. The 1876-CC looks nice and natural.

    Dirt is natural.

Your 1876 cc takes the cake. You can see the luster breaking through the rays. They are both gorgeous

So far, I'm the only crazed voter who chose the 1850. I think the dirt highlights the eagle is very distinctive.

I love the 1850 date (first year and scarce), but do not like the appearance of the reverse.
So for pure eye appeal, I voted for the CC coin.

Dirty gold is okay until it becomes negative eye-appeal. I Honestly do not like the 1850 ( I don't want a dipped out coin either, but still

    the 76-cc is nice.

    CAC apparently liked them both.

I like the '76-CC.Don't dislike the '50 but does it deserve a CAC gold sticker?

That '50 is definitely 'dirty gold'....but the '76 is a CC and CC always captures my heart... Cheers, RickO

Love the '76-CC... Gorgeous! I really like the '50's obverse, and I also like dirt, but that level of dirt on the reverse is just a wee over the top for me.

    Still a nice coin though.

Nice dirty coins. It looks like the slab on the 1850 could use some work though.

Too much on the 50 for me but I like the fact that it was circ'd.

76-CC for me. As for the 50, while I like the obverse, I'm not crazy about the reverse. If dirt adds character, this coin has serious character flaws.

That 1850 has to be the most "original" early $20 I've ever seen.
