OT 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's

Hi gang! It's that time of year again! Time for the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer's!

Hope I don't get in trouble for posting this OT post. I think of this as a benefit to everyone.

I'm doing this walk to raise money for Alzheimer's research so someone can finally find a cure
for this crap. The Walk this year will be on this Saturday, September 17, 2016.

As most of you know, I lost my dad due to complications with Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's runs thru both sides of my family, specially on my dad's side. I also lost both of my grandfathers and a great-grandfather to the same disease. What is real scary is that my dad's 3 brothers do not or did not have this disease. My grandfather's 3 brothers and 2 sisters did not have this stuff. I'm betting my great-grandfather's siblings didn't have it either. Does anyone else see a straight line pointing toward me? I sure do!!

Unfortunately, that is still not an option. Please contact me directly if you want to donate by Paypal. We can work it out!

You guys and gals have been extremely generous every year I have done this Walk. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks gang!

A worthy cause, and speaking from the frontlines of primary care, we are seeing the tip of the iceberg of an epidemic of AD. Our current treatments are little better than placebos, and it takes a terrible toll on patients and caregivers alike.

A worthy cause! They are making real decent strides in early detection... This disease, it appears, is like so many other... if caught early amazing things can happen.

I went through this with my very good friend's wife last year.... I went to AZ to help him... stayed for months. Terrible affliction...very sad. RickO

To keep this coin related, my dad was a coin collector. He collected gold and silver American Eagles and mint sets. I have his collection.

We had a purple party and raised over 3 grand! Did the walk today and raised another $2,000. Hope you did well Tootawl!! This is the most expensive disease by far in the world today and is not a an old persons disease. Early onset can happen in early 40's.....

Congrats BigE!! Thanks for doing the Walk and raising so much money! So far I've raised a bit over $1,800 with a few days to go. I'm hoping to crack the 2 grand barrier.

This is the 7th year that I've done these Walks. Each year by the time the Walk started, it has been clear skies with 1 or 2 clouds. I didn't take any photos. The Alzheimer's website stated that there were almost 300 people walking this year but it looked more than that....a lot more. The Walk went so fast, it didn't seem like 2 miles. It was simply a great Walk. What's even better, my knees didn't hurt nor did my back!

You all helped me raise $2,148 which made me the 3rd highest in the Southern Maryland area! THANK YOU!

As long as there is a cure to find, I'll keep on doing these Walks.

If you would still like to donate, you can donate up until the end of the year. Please just click here!

Thanks to the PCGS admins for keeping this post up!
