Auction at July Baltimore show??

Typically S-B has an auction at the Baltimore shows -- now coming up in four weeks. Do not see anything about it on their website.

Anyone know what is going on??

I recall at the March Baltimore Convention that Stacks had announced that they would not be having an auction this time around for the July Convention.

Stacks does not show an auction for that time period, so I think you are correct.

I've been trying to open the whitmanexpo. site for a couple of days, but it won't boot up. In addition their main page whitman does not indicate a upcoming show in Baltimore.

Kind of eliminates one of the major reasons to attend a coin show doesn't it?

Looks as if there will be quite a significant coin auction in Baltimore at the time of the Baltimore show (7-14) - its just not at the show.

    Interesting ...

Heritage runs an auction with the Summer FUN show is probably smaller than the Baltimore show.

Looks like a really nice group available (though I'd be sure to keep that 21% buyers premium in mind when bidding image ). Does Opfer do coin auctions very often? I see they've been around for a long time, but don't seem to specialize in coins.

I have been covering coin auctions for more than twenty years. Before I saw this thread, I was unaware of this firm. I appreciate the information that has been provided in this thread.

Gene Gardner Coins Re-Appear in Summer FUN Auction

The Summer Baltimore show is closer in time to the ANA Convention. Even so, I am surprised, too. Last year, SBG conducted a very successful auction in Baltimore, which was highlighted by the collection of Doug Kaselitz.
