Got my sets today. Everything was in shipshape order, the FRNs were sequential & properly in place in the holders and the coins look beautiful. Me gruntled!

That was fast. Closest to a palindrome you're going to get with this set. Interesting that two different boxes had S/N's so close together. It would be funny if your other three boxes filed in the sequence.
Your serial numbers are pretty high for a low serial number FRN, though. They could have kept them all in the four digit range...
I agree. Was hoping for some 3 and 4 digit #s.
13,000 out of the 24,000 sold so far. Wait untill you see who got the two and three digit serial numbers.
low serial # held out of main stream ordering ? That is put aside
Got my sets. Disappointed with the Atlanta 1378x serial numbers. Not even consecutive. The coin is another matter! Looks like 2 different finishes were used as follows: Obverse is a burnished background reverse proof. Reverse is the opposite with proof like fields and frosted devices. The coin is much higher in quality than past 2 years. Is this what you would expect from the definition of 'enhanced uncirculated' finish? The coin is beautiful!
Well, at least there are a few 4 digit numbers out there.... ...with a run of 4.
Will be interesting to see how many are out there.

That being said, I bet we will see some 3 digit ones show up on home shopping networks. The US Mint knows the low numbers are more valuable, and I would not be surprised if there was a previous deal worked out.
I agree with GopherNationals. They did use two different finishes on obverse and reverse. Reverse proof on obverse; reverse with a traditional proof/frosted devices. Is this the first time this has been done? If so, might have some limited potential.
Take a close look at what is MISSING! So are the employees who ship the coins sorting the #s or is the mint pulling anything that may be worth more then the buck put into the sets? Why else would all the sets be in order but missing the one good one?
All the coins look great BUT due to the fact the mint is playing games they are all going back! Rant over
I know nothing about serial #'s on currency other than they're there. Can you explain why that missing serial # would command a premium? Thanks!
Recvd my 5 Indianapolis 5 digit notes...nothing noteworthy.
Interesting finishes on the coins...
Obverse, in my opinion, is a combination of reverse proof & satin finish, whereas the reverse is a straight satin finish. Interesting combination that I've not see before.

I think I see small field defects in all the specimens I've seen. That frosted surface on the die must be hard to maintain perfectly. The notes don't do anything for me at all, but I do like the obverse of this Sac.

Quick question about the 2014 set. I see it has started to get some legs under it again on ebay (be it very fragile and small sample) Because of the 50K household limit should I a) hold on for a longer term play or b) liquidate some sealed boxes I have of these. All the sets I have are free and clear I had sold enough at the height of the market to pay for them! I take a glance at this set every 6 months or so and the last time I looked they were in the mid 20's. The last set just ended at close to $50 with 16 bids. I think I am sitting on 70-80 set's I don't know because they are in my attic!

Well, yeah, there was no order limit, so I guess there was a 50K household limit...
What's the 2000 millennium set going for these days? Subtract off the Uncirc Eagle from that set, and it might be the base for the 2014. (It may eventually be higher (I think), considering they made 75K millennium sets, but that burnished Sac is unique.)

I made a mistake, i'm missing one number for the sequence above.
HOWEVER, i have 2 PO boxes and AMAZINGLY between those two, i have EIGHT in a row sequential.

What I have done in the past is pick out your best coin, take it out of the holder, and swap it to match your best bill. Easy Peasy.
