It annoys me, that a few of our most prolific posters won't/don't take the time to learn basic photography and share their collection with the rest of us. They seem to have mastered the art of criticism and critique quite well, all while hiding behind a keyboard.

Bolivarshagnasty hit the nail on the head about you and me. We've not taken the time to learn to photo our coins so that we can share them with all here. I'd like to see your non-toned ("tarnished") coins. Maybe someone here could show you the money to sell some of your duplicates! BTW, I do like your sharing in this forum.

Would that really be an addiction (or problem) considering that one of the major TPG holders is:



1. Easier to sell than all the others

2. Easier to price and value

3. Easier to get more money for it

4. Probably a tad easier to get a sticker assigned

5. Some dealers stock and sell only this particular TPG brand....no one else does that for the other TPG's.



Rather than an addiction, it sounds like sound reasoning and good market analysis.



Now stick in the word "harder" for "easier" above for all the other TPG's.





I live in New England and I feel like we are ignored bythe MAJOR coin show circuit.



There was a hot bed of activity in the New England region in the 1970's and 1980's. Bay State shows in 1974-1976 were rockin. And it didn't hurt that a group of very strong dealers in the NE region helped to support it. Jim Halperin out of NERCG in Framingham was a major force up until 1983. Bay State was still a big force even up to 1990. And even then slabs were still a small part of the market. Then things slowly died during the lull of 1990-2002. The Bay State show was a MAJOR show right up through the 1980's. Blame the dealers, the region, the collectors, internet, slabbing, etc....the answer is there somewhere. New York City was a much hotter region for shows up until the 1980's as well. It's nowhere near what it used to be, having been replaced by Baltimore as the east coast center. Stacks' power out of the northeast was replaced by Heritage in Dallas and PCGS/NGC in CA/FL. Even ANR couldn't make it last up in New Hampshire and they left the region in the past 10 years.



I'd love to attend some big northeast/New England shows. It doesn't look like it's ever going to be in the cards. There are probably only half to 1/3 of the dealers today than there were 30-40 years ago. Unless you're on the major show circuit, most dealers and collectors seem to get by with Long Beach (2-3 shows), FUN, summer ANA, Central States, and Baltimore (2-3 shows) during the year. Nearly a dozen major shows spread out throughout the year.



I prefer red whine, though.

I am in Dallas. My daughter is a Trauma Nurse in the Emergency room in Dallas. She was working Friday, during the police shootings.

She says she will never complain about anything again in her life.

Proposed marriage to a lady and she said, "no".
