I've had this for a while. Nicer color and luster in person. I believe image credit goes to Mark Goodman for John.

I'd grade it 64. And in the pre-2009 days that could have easily been an NGC MS65.

Great coin. I don't see anything keeping it from 64.

Interesting that PCGS didn't denote the RedBook variety. Maybe they didn't include that freebie until later generation holders ?

Nothing wrong with MS half cents! I have an example of the same date in MS64 RB as a type coin. Wish mine was the 12-star variety, but it's the more common 13-stars variety.

I guess I could copy PCGS's grade, but I think I'd get a higher score by copying roadrunners answer.

Very nice coin... and definitely (IMO) undergraded. Cheers, RickO

I was for sure it was MS 64 +. I still am.

That's a real beauty, and in a nice holder. It's a gorgeous coin that would make any collector proud!

In my experience, the difference between 63 and 64 is full strike and full luster across the fields. From the photos, yours seems to fit the bill. But I think it's more desirable in the current holder with the green bean.
