and yes, I really sent it for grading.

HH
1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
good question but I think I see an inward curve on the left side indicating a 9. But, PCGS may disagree, we'll see.

edit- and to answer OP I say 50/50 and leaning toward PO-1
Wish they'd give out Basal State for those coins so worn that they can only be dated using diagnostics for that year instead of the actual year... I just think it'd be neat to have an 1878 8TF BS-0!

Yes, there are several dollars that no date is needed, nor mintmark. The 1890cc tailbar would be one of those as would the 1921 Peace dollar, just to name two.

Appears to be the reverse of '89-CC VAM 5. Note the dramatically lower position of the right C of mintmark.
The F02 graded coin, no?

Ah, fatigue is a strange thing. I was attributing the certified FR2.
Edited to add: The mintmark on Bob's coin is too small to be from an '89-CC reverse. I think it is 1880-CC, of which a half dozen or so reverse of 1879 (SAF) dies used the small cc mintmark. None of the 1889-CC reverse dies used the small cc.

I am very confused why would you send in such a worn coin? Is it really worth the price of grading for such a specimen?
Price guide is $700 for a 1.

The PO1 candidate has this reversed. I think having most of the obverse motto visible could be the decider.
