And I grade it A+ on Ricks revolutionary simplified nonovergrading grading scale (simply A-E scale with plusses & minuses) that we haven't heard about yet to be publicly announced in August at ANA where everyone and anyone will be in attendance to hear his groundbreaking words that will forever change the hobby....again.
Sounds like a similar scale used by Numismatic Professionals Inc. from 1983-1989. It was simply the assigned grade + qualifiers for eye appeal, luster, and strike. Top of the line for any coin was AAA (ie MS65 AAA). The majority of gem coins sold by those guys typically had 2 A's or 2 B's (ie MS65 ABA or MS65 BAB). They rarely had coins in inventory with a C as those typically were unappealing/low end coins. I don't recall ever seeing one. And a AAA coin was quite scarce too. That system worked quite well for that time.
Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.

When I first bought it, I had no idea that I was going to end up collecting the series. I just liked it. Fortunately, I found some more coins in the next few years, and that got me rolling on the project. Still going strong after 22 years!
Anyway, as one of my favorite coins, and as the only coin in my collection that had any sentimental value, I thought I'd never sell it. But since I recently had the chance to buy a better one - the finest known of the type - it was time to say goodbye.

I say that Andy post his on the Darkside so that those here take a trip there. I think the CAR coins have kept the little know history of the attempt at unifying the central American region in the early 1800s alive. I've always been fascinated with the 8R pieces, and own an inferior one that is the highlight of my Latin American collection. I did take a moment to Google CAR to look into the history.
