I set a new personal record today...

MrEurekaMrEureka Posts: 24,747 ✭✭✭✭✭
Smashed it, actually!

My alarm went off at 4AM in Hamburg yesterday morning. The plan was to catch the 5AM shuttle to the airport, which I had reserved the night before.

I fell back asleep and woke up at exactly 4:55AM. Brushed my teeth, got dressed, packed my bag, caught the shuttle, and was inside the airport at 5:05 sharp. 10 minutes from my bed to the check-in counter. Can life get any better than that?

i imagine a later flight would have been nice... The Hamburg security line is pretty chaotic but the sushi is good when you are on an afternoon flight.

That is impressive! Not sure what it says about your personal hygiene, but it is impressive timing.

    "got dressed,"

You didn't sleep fully clothed ? image

How much of an adrenaline rush did you get at 4:55 ?

Your task reminded me of that "Dick Van Dyke Show" episode when Laura was pregnant and any day now she would give birth. When Rob would be preparing to wake up to drive Laura to the hospital. He would be timing every act of getting dress to save time. Check it out! Good job in not getting hurt in that short process too. LOL

Sounds frantic. Takes me longer to just use the elevator.

I will probably be using this as a motivation not to be late...anywhere.

Woke up, fell out of bed,

Dragged a comb across my head

Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,

And looking up I noticed I was late.

Ah, but my room was on the ground floor!

And just in case it wasn't obvious, this thread is not OT. I was going from one coin auction to another. Of course.

That reminds me of boot camp... The TI would come in and smash garbage can lids together and we had to get up out of bed, get dressed and be downstairs and in formation in 3 minutes or do it all over again....

I hate that feeling of waking up and realizing you fell back to sleep and have like no time to get ready.. At least you made it. Congratulations on that. LOL

    This is some good work.

I've had a few of these sort of oversleep-get dressed as fast as possible-catch your flight experiences, but never close to this fast.

I'm on an early morning plane right now (5:56am) and it stinks. 80% of the people on this plane may have just rolled out of bed.

Lots of that today. I was on the 6:30a to LA-Ontario and back again on the 8:15p. Word to the wise- Super Shuttle is a j0ke out of regional airports. Take a taxi if your schedule is at all time-critical.
