Representative Toning Patterns

There are a few recognizable and consistent toning patterns which originate from a common source. Wayte Raymond albums, Capital Plastics holders, tab toning from commem holders, wood or leather pouch toning on gold, etc.
Post an example of a toned coin which is representative of a particular toning source.

"Newman-Green Toning." Many silver coins in the Newman sales had thin bands of rainbow coloration about the peripheries. This one is PCGS PR66 (was NGC PR67).
"Wayte Raymond" Toning. This coin sat in an old Wayte Raymond album for about 50 years. I removed it and submitted to NGC, where they graded it MS63, but without the "star" designation.
"Library of Coins" album toning. This coin sat in a Library of Coins album from 1961-2008. It now resides in an NGC MS62 holder.
Someone needs to post some "Taco Bell Napkin" toning for old time's sake.

Sometimes seen with a central toning dot if the coin was in the central position of the holder

A bag-toned Morgan (which looks like it was also later stored in an album). This one has some textile, but other forum members have much better examples of that.
I imagine that the longer this thread goes, the more secondary toning you will see and that these secondarily toned coins will generally not be labeled as such. Also, I would guess that some AT pieces are going to be posted along with the stories that help facilitate their sales.
Hopefully there is some constructive peer criticism in that case.

Perhaps, but folks can be quite defensive about their coins and not everyone who might comment will have the same experience with respect to seeing things over the years. Additionally, images aren't always that accurate. Regardless, I already see at least one example that fits what I described originally.

Tissue toned
I am not sure what type of toning it represents. Probably a type of small coin envelope for a long period of time.
peacockcoins
Early 1960s cellophane toning
1950s cellophane toning is more rare
1970-S Proof Set toning with the obv ring tone on the cent and the light blue toning circle on other coins.
I have seen 1976 Proof Set with a funky wood grain toned cent.
Yellow envelope toning from different amounts of phosphorous in the paper
Other off brand holders have produced funky things. Going to photograph one today in fact.
Raymond Wayte albums were very popular for toning Roosevelt dimes pretty darn nice
Capital Plastics (and the off brands of those)
1964 Kennedy Half Dollars toned funky in the Commemorative White Cardboard type holder
Others mentioned in this thread...
So many others....
Not to mention when these holders are stored in warm humid areas like attics, garages, wrapped in newspaper or wrapping paper or.....
when the holders break down and other elements get added to the coins' environment.
I don't have time to post coins with all of these right now but maybe others do?

Tarnish is tarnish... although different sources of the chemical contamination provide different results... it is all environmental damage....Damage that people will pay a premium for. Cheers, RickO
The point is that the toning patterns themselves are part of the history of numismatics. I find that fact to be interesting.

Wow, Jeff. Those Franklins and Roosevelts are amazing. Are they still in the set of have they been slabbed by now?
David, I intended to keep the set but someone offered me 7x what I paid for it and I caved. I understood he was going to keep it intact. A month later I began seeing the coins at auction online. So it was broken up. Oddly I bought one of them back at one of the auctions for almost nothing. Then resold it. I"ve been looking for the others.
