Any one else see the coin flip that didn't flip?

So in the football game last night between Az and Packers they went into overtime If you watched the CoinCam when they went to flip the coin in the coin toss it never flipped. Just laid straight like a pancake. Really strangest thing I've ever seen. Did you see it? What do you think?



Here is my point. There is nothing in the rules that says it has to flip!



So was it right to reflip it? Or was it basically fair?

    I didn't like that at all. It almost looked like a fix, especially given the rule that lets the team that wins the toss win the game if it scores a touchdown. The rule should be like it is in college. Does anyone remember the TCU - Oregon game?
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.     I saw it. I like the college football overtime rules MUCH MUCH better, not to mention some other rules.

    By your description, it was merely a coin toss. For a legitmate coin flip, the coin should be projected in a manner that will cause it to spin in the air on a horizontal axis, and if it should bounce when it strikes the ground and flip again, it is still random. Not so with a lateral toss. The official should be reprimanded for not having ruled the initial toss null.

    I saw it and thought it was a very odd thing. Imagine if one tried to do that how many times they would fail.

    The NFL issued a statement that said that there is nothing in the rules that requires the coin to actually flip, but said the referee was acting within the rules as he was acting out of fairness for the coin flip.
    I love the 3 P's: PB&J, PBR and PCGS.

    The official did call it null and they did reflip it.
    There is no official rule that the coin must actually flip during the coin toss.
    The call was the individual refs call to reflip it and the league and most fans agree with that call.

    I saw it. Happened so fast that I had to replay it with the DVR. It went up like a flat flying saucer and landed like it took off. I don't like the OT rules in the NFL.



    On a different note, about 8 out of 10 people asked thinks Aaron Rodgers is my doppelganger.

    Looked fair to me - we won the toss both times image Green Bay was the one saying they did not like it. The real question would have been, if the 2nd toss was in GB's favor would the Cards wanted a 3rd toss? image

    I saw it,quite strange...the overtime rules need a bit of tweeking
