I go through my slabbed coins and update the current PCGS Price Guide prices at the start of each year.
I still keep the value at what I paid for each coin though, but it's good to have another reference.

And to track over time, I try to pull out the wholesale value for each coin every 6 months or so, and plug it into a spreadsheet. It can help inform about which areas are moving, and which are not.

That is what I use.

I have my own application that I use and the prices don't get updated automatically
so it became a waste of effort. Cheers, RickO
