I've given out ~30 ten point user ratings....why not?

GoldbullyGoldbully Posts: 18,570 ✭✭✭✭✭
I lost my previous very high rating as it did not carry over. Now the forum has castigated me to the cellar.

I am a lowly piece of dreck and must deal with it.

I will be lucky to get 9 or 10 hours of sleep tonight. image

What are your thoughts on the forum rating system?

It appears most members are set up to be rated with this software upgrade.

The previous version had very few members available for rating(castigation).

Happy New Year Forum!!!

Mine is set up to not have anyone rate me. You can do the same. But, either way, the rating thing of a user is pretty worthless anyway. Maybe some people need to be rated a ten in order to feel good about themselves and toot their horn, but is it really needed?

You're a 10 in my book, but so is everyone image

Still, you are stuck at 6

The old software was stupid - defaulted to 1 (or worst). The upgrade did nothing to fix this.

Nope. It only detracts from the good works this great coin forum produces.

I just gave you a 10 - even though I should have deducted a point for "off topic threads" image

I never looked at mine before. I see I'm a lowly "4" with 14 votes. image
    Wow - that's a lot of votes.
I guess I'm hitting some nerves.

It used to be no one could agree if a 1 or 10 was the best, but now they are labeled with 1=Worst (default) and 10=Best

I guess if you piss off someone they take revenge with a 1 rating. Kind of like negative feedback on eBay. image

My feelings exactly. It's not like we're still in grade school that we need to worry what others think of us.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I give everyone a 10 as the information I get here from members is a 100. Being 44yo makes me Generation X, that sounds cool. Thank you all who help and keep the drama down.

I didn't know they had reset all of these numbers. In the old days no one knew if "1" was "You're the best" or if it met that you were "a stinking, trouble making troll." As a result a lot of people had numbers that in the 5.5 to 6.5 range. I was somewhere around that, although I had not looked it in years.

You post prompted to me to look at my rating last night night. Right I'm a "10." image That won't last, but at least it's good to like Nadia Comaneci (If you are old enough to remember what she did in the 1976 Summer Olympcis when she scored a perfect "10" in her event.)

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Rating system? Another ill conceived concept. Whatever. Crazy. So what else is new.

Two days ago, clicking on my avatar, I was a 'one" rating, now I'm a "'four"
