Acid damage or something else?

I'm like, 99% sure this is just PMD (acid?), but I have had this sitting around for a bit now. Any thoughts on what created the weird surfaces? Weight is 11.09g.

Fire damage?
Could be heat damage just not a 4000 degree house fire as it would have shape shifted with a copper core and clad.

Great toning!!! Worthy of a premium price!!!
I've seen worse posted up with similar comments.
My guess would be dug out of the ground, environmental damage.

Coulda been in a cheap cowhide accessory (change purse) for a long time too. Tannic acid used in tanning cowhide will raise holy hell on coins, especially if the accessory was in a damp environment (basement/garage) for a long time.
