The French Connection

I was in Paris for 9/11. I'm in NYC now where I'm living. Washington Sq is one of my absolute favorite places in the world and the history with France here is obvious. Lafayette and Washington are woven together forever. Steps from my apartment. mark

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Spent many afternoons in that park during the 1980s~Tony Vera put on some great shows in there.

Cool place to have an apartment, that is for sure!

I lived in France for 16 months and I get back as often as possible. A display of such intense hatred in a setting so beautiful is offensive to the human spirit.

Yes. I've been to Paris over 100x so I feel the same connection. My wife used to live in Paris. We just were discussing a trip there on Thurday. So sick to my stomach

I've visited France several times and was amongst the crowds in Paris for Bastille Day a while back so this is particularly shocking. I've also watched the Boston Marathon and have known people that worked in the WTC. It's a small world and we need to stand together.

Same here. I flew in right after the attacks. T3 was full on French troops. We normally stay in Bercy but that was too close to the attacks so we are hanging out near the airport. The northern arrondissements are unsafe as far as I'm concerned. The day after the city's streets are eerily empty and quiet. It saddens me to see the degradation of this fine city over the past decade.

I concur. The whole world must get involved now, including the Russians on a much larger scale.

I'm glad we've moved past all that "Freedom Fries" and "Surrender Monkeys" silliness of a decade or more ago.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

Indeed, France was very instrumental in our independence from Great Britain. We paid the debt back in WWI and WII.

Having travelled to Paris several times I absolutely love the place. Good food, good museums, good coin shops, good museums. And that "joie de vivre" that makes the city of Paris so pleasant.
