Yes - PCGS MS64 Saints at $450 - Aug 2001 Bellaire Show (Texas). I remember leaving my table to go buy a couple from this other dealer based on hunch thinking this has got to be the low. Wish bought more. Wish had listened to gut feel more seriously.

This sold right after 09/11. The market was likely depressed, b/c of that, too. I noticed some crazy low prices during that time period.

If I could go back to 2001, rather than buy coins, I'd buy shares of Google and Apple.
    I love the 3 P's: PB&J, PBR and PCGS.

I bought a 1908 No Motto Saint in a PCGS OGH MS63 holder off the BST forum for 400 bucks.

    Heady days those were. *sigh*

I don't think the Google IPO happened until slightly later? What, '03 or so? I remember my boss got in on it. I've never played with stocks.

    Update: it was 2004.

But yeah... Apple for sure. Remember how Forrest Gump made his money buying shares of "some fruit company"? image

I was in Brasil during 9/11 and was lucky that my flight home wasn't cancelled (international flights were resumed several days before my scheduled flight home; there were 27 people in a 777, including the flight crew). As far as coins are concerned, if I was back in 2001, I would have bought my better date Capped Bust Half in MS 64 or MS 65.

    2001? No.

    2006? Yes.

Too many good things happened in my life during those five years. I wouldn't want to go back and take a chance that I would change anything for the worse.

    FYI....Priceline closed @ $2.66 per share on 1-2-2001
Now priced @ $1,400+ per share....there is no coin in the world that had that type of price
    appreciation.

    Yes, I would go.

I would buy every error coin I could get my hands on since there has been huge price increases in error coins since 2001.
