I completely believe the story. Its online and on Ebay so must be true.

I am so lucky to have several thousand of these same "F" nickels in varying years , I will make millions with em image

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Great story, except he does not explain the significance of the F. Any further comments would get me banned.

Good grief that is a silly story!

I would definitely be interested in one without the 'F'. And without the story.

This is an ULTRA RARE Buffalo Head Nickle with a F imprinted on the face. I have heard from the highest authorities that this nickle once belonged to an old Mormon priest who was shot down in cold blood. The perpetrator burned down the monistary, snatching a bag of ULTRA RARE Buffalo Head Nickles only to have them lost in time. I suspect that this could be one of the last few Mormon Blood Nickles left. Notice the cut on the face of the Nickle. That is where the robber would cut the Nickle as he sat by the campfire counting his spoils.

I always thought that the Mormon blood nickels had to have 2 scratches on the face to be genuine.

Do you think this could be a pattern Mormon blood nickel? Or a unique error Mormon blood nickel?

  • Another auction to pick and shovel - pick through the crap and shovel the sh..
  • Although they're asking $225, I submitted a $0.99 Best Offer. I hope they accept.

Their "2" feedback rating and the spelling of "nickle" just adds credibility to the story.

Before his death, the dutiful Mormon priest "imprinted" the grade of each nickel just below the date. This example, of course, was imprinted with an 'F' for its grade of 'fine."

How much stupidity are we supposed to swallow?
    Frank

    BHNC #203

  • He's lowered his price from $225 to $99.

It reminds me of some coin auctions I remember from the late 1990s in which the seller would have some ugly raw coin from the mid-1800s and suggest that Abraham Lincoln may have spent it.

  • I'm starting to wonder whether the seller believes his story and bought the coin at some inflated price based on this story.
