segojasegoja Posts: 6,141 ✭✭✭✭
There is an old thread, so thought I'd get the most up today version.

Any free programs that are worth trying?

Thanks!

GavelSnipe. It's run by Heritage and works for both eBay and Heritage auctions.

Not free but Auction Sniper has not ever failed me except when I was the fault by not bidding as high as someone else.

I like auction magic. It is also not free (one time cost) and it resides on your computer, not the software's server, and therefore, it has to be on to snipe. It has a lot of useful features.

Never had a problem with Just Snipe Five free snipes a week or you can pay for unlimited.

eBay is become more and more fixed price / buy-it-now on a daily basis, so
hard-core snipping is a thing of the past.

Be aware that none of these will work with the various rebate sites so you have to choose which is the more important, the snipe or the rebate.

I switched from auctionsniper to Gixen.
It works great and no fees.

Last time I sniped I used the gixen site. I was using the free public snipe at www.vrane.com but that site was letting me down.

I've used Gixen for about 4 years now with no problems. I pay the $5 a year to help support it and use the mirror site.

My finger on the trigger and bid at the last second.

same here and it works through the rebate sites. ( High speed internet connection also helps )

Here is a pretty decent, current, review of the top 5 eBay sniper apps.

I have used Bidnapper for years, and always been pleased. It's not free, but it's never let me down.

    Good luck!

Always worked for me if I really wanted it. Haven't bid on anything in 3-1/2 years.

I have always done it myself..... great adrenaline rush..... never lost an item (coin or otherwise) that I really wanted. Let some slide because I was too busy with other stuff... but if it was important.. the MASTER SNIPER would be there and place the nuclear bid at the last three seconds... BAM!!! image

    Cheers, RickO
